Hey Alison, I am planning a trip in February to visit my family in Oregon, don't really miss home just the people that make it home you know? My mother is very supportive of my surgery, as is all my family, though it killed her not to be able to tend to me (I am the baby of the family). I grew up in Florida which has sunshine to spare but I am very fair-skinned and freckle (Irish/Scottish heritage) so I didn't love it. Plus I was ALWAYS hot. So a couple of years after I got married I moved to Oregon that has weather much like England. I plan to visit Florida next September to see the other half of the family. I came here for my post-grad education and it has been top notch.

I am glad too that you have found us here, it is a great tool to learn more & make friends. I know I have made many here.

Take care;).

I would love to stay in the UK, when I finish my PhD in a few years, I would like to teach at a university. My hubby and I love to travel and there is so much to see here. I am looking forward to feeling fit so we can take mini-holidays on a regular basis. The hubbs hasn't seen much of Europe so we have lots of plans. I am looking to bring my mum over here as well. She loves to travel and would be a good carer for any liitle babies in our future!
