hi - have just checked with my holiday insurance to see if I am covered for my gastric band and the answer is no. Does anybody know where I can purchase insurance for peace of mind?

I recently used Flexicover and they have an on-line questionnaire for health so you just tick the appropriate boxes and they will add a premium for each condition including gastric surgery. This isn't a recommendation as you only find out if insurance companies are any good after you have made a claim and thankfully I haven't needed to.

ive just looked extensively nto this ahead of holiday in August and have got mine via insure and go - added my band to be covered and n durance came in at £25 so was pleased with that

ohhh good point, I get insurance with my bank account but I best call them to check I am covered. happy to pay a bit extra if I have to - just hope they will still cover me!

Mine is with my bank account, and as I chose to have my surgery, rather than be referred for surgery, I am covered, and at no extra cost ... Oh happy holidays

hi - I have insurance with my bank (Santander), but they say I am not covered, as it was elective surgery!!

Just goes to show how we need to do our research .... Mine is with a different bank and just thinking will check every year now ... Just in case they change the terms and conditions.

just for my own peace of mind, have taken out another insurance policy with insure and go to cover me for my band, thank you all for your information x
