Just to let anyone know that's considering going to Homerton at the moment (most likely those that fall under the South East Coast or East of England Specialised Commissioning Groups) that they're apparently having problems meeting the influx of new referrals.
I've had two family members referred there in the last fortnight and both have got a different version as to where the delay lies, however my other half went up and spoke directly to the bariatric receiptionist who informed her that they don't have enough outpatient clinic spaces to give out at the moment and they're trying to get it sorted. They gave an estimated timeframe of two to three weeks.
Don't panic, however, I've already red flagged it with both the SEC and EOE SCGs. The EOE CM is going to investigate.
If you're already in the system then this won't effect you; only those that have been referred to the hospital in the last few weeks and don't already have an appointment.
Regards, Ade.
