i really hope ive not offended anyone:cry:
its so hard i know everyone is waiting for ops and i feel so bad about moaning that i couldnt have mine when it wasnt really scheduled:cry:
the pain and emotions are just too much to bear anymore:cry::cry:

mandy my understanding is that if you have your op sooner rather than later it is because it is being done on a medical need not because you are queue jumping. Any surgeon worth their salt is going to perform one op instead of 2. You have gall stones and i know from personal experiance how painful that is( had minr removed 20 yrs ago) as do others on here who have suffered with them post op. Not only are they painful they can cause jundice if left which in itself is very unpleasent and a medical condition.

Dont feel bad if you get your op sooner rather than later like anything medical some people take priority and in this case you do.

hope you get it done soon so that you can be rid of the pain and discomfort of gallstones and on the road to recovery and loosing

Mandy you have not offended anyone, many of us are in a similar situation and tbh we all want out ops sooner than later and in some cases like urs where medical probs take priority then it does bump u up the list, but that is ur surgeons choice and u have nothing to apologise for.
Some people get their ops quicker than others but no 2 journeys are the same.
Take care hun xx

hunm, I think I missed something down the line but one thing I do know is that you wont have offended anyone on here :)

Everyones journey is different and everyone will get there in the end :D

Why woud you have offended anyone?

Dont apologice for getting your operation.

Just keep staying positive and concentrate on staying happy through your journey.

thanks hc
awful things arent they. not in pain at moment but by god do i feel sick. do you have any tips for me?
funny enough mr slater did mention something about jaundice. just praying its not a long wait and christine gets her arse in gear for me.

just worrying cos im hoping to get my date in about a month because of being admitted to hospital twice last wk with my gallstones. mr slaters registrar said to me yesterday that if had had my op it would mean someone elses being cancelled. when actually i was on the emergency list and not the elective list so wasnt the case but by god did he upset me:cry::cry:

well all i can say is i for one am not offended, in fact if you were on the same list as me and i was before you i would gladly cancel my date for you and have a later date as i am not in agony with gall stones like you. it is essential you get it done and anyone will see that surely so stop worrying and look after yourself and concentrate on the new you soon to come xxx

Low fat ,light mushy diet, no alcohol and gaviscon for the sickness. The less work your stomach has to do to break down the food the less call it has for bile so the less work your gall bladder has to do.

Hi I am not offended at all. I had my gallbladder removed about 6 years ago and I was so glad to be rid of it the pain is awful. I was told to avoid anything with high fat content, cucumber(there is something about it that triggers the stones to move), and eggs. Hope you get your date soon.

thankyou so so much everyone. your all so lovely and youve all helped me get through this . i was so scared coming out from hospital yesterday and you have helped me so much:gen126:xxxxx

Oh Mandy love, look at you - worrying again! Everyone here is rooting for you and wants you to be pain-free as soon as poss - and if that means you getting your bypass quickly, well, that's a bonus! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope you are 'done' soon. Lots of love, Mxx

what a wonderful person thankyou for saying such a lovely kind unselfish thing. :thankyou:

mandy hope this example helps ( it is a true story)
I was at the hospital with my sister for an outpatient appointment with the nurologist. We had been there about an hour with about 3 paitents in front of us who were all complaining that the clinic was running late. My sisters condition has deteriorated somewhat over the past months and she really needed this appointment to try and get to the bottom of what was going on.
The booking clerk suddenly appeared in the waiting room and announced that unfortunatly the clinic was being cancelled as the nurologist was in theater with a critically ill patient.
You should of heard the uproar with comments like "ive taken the day off work for this" "thats not on whats he doing in theater when he has a clinic" "thats the NHS for you" My sister who unlike me is usually meak and mild piped up "For god sake you people that could be one of us that he is operating on with your loved ones in the waiting room waiting to hear its been sucessfull. She then turned to the man who had complained about taking a day off work and said i would love to be able to work to take a day off and thank god for the NHS i wouldnt like to be without them.
I was so proud of her and so was the nurologist 2 days later he phoned her and did a telephone consultation with her and arranged for her to go in as an inpatient to get the much needed teats done to find out what was going on for her.

thanks hc

Ask for Pethidine for the pain. I got it - not only effective but fun too! Seriously - the pain of GS is enough to warrant it x

Mandy the peeps here understand the situation. The surgeon would'nt let you jump the queue anyway. He's there to operate on those needing the treatment there and then so no I don't think you've offended anybodyxx
thanks hun
i will be when i have the energy be complaining about his registrar. fancy telling a very fragile person they would have to cancel someone elses op when that just wasnt true. met some lovely people as well though

you are very welcome hunnie no problem at all i would not feel right doing it any other way for anyone in pain and need xxx Good luck and best wishes :bestwishes:
