Not sure the staff now what their doing, please help - have had a cup of tea & tomato soup (just a small bit) surgeon calked in spoke to one if the nurses when she told he what I had he said I hope she hadn't had milk. A had a bit surely they shouldn't off given me it with milk if I'm not allowed it??? Will it of done any damage?
Now wondering should I be eating this soup? X

is the hospital dietician available to speak to? Can you ask to speak to him/her? It's infuriating how some staff on the wards don't seem clued up on wls post op diets. I've read about it time and time again here.

congrats on being on the losers bench xx

Mandy, it doesn't say on your info what kind of surgery you had. I think it makes a difference to what you can have in your first days after surgery. Can you add that info xx

Hi Mandy

I was only given cups of tea with milk and juice while in hospital! No soup or yogurt think I was overlooked!! ;( x

I had cups of tea and have drunk it every day since i got out. I cant understand why not to have milk? afterall its liquid.

i was rtold only semi skimmed milk but thats for bypass x

Starting to think not a great after care service, my problem was my consultant was off to a lecture in London straight after doing my op - mind you he did say he would get his understudy to see me. That didn't happen grrrr.

When I had my op privately I do remember the nurse lady coming round with a supper sheet she said order a chicken sandwich if you don't know how you are going to feel so I did thought it would be a good snack for my boyfriend!! Did make me laugh thinking about it bread after a drastic band op!! Oh and I was allowed to order a watery porridge for breakfast for the morning after I was starving it was lovely too!!xx

Strange you would think they would be clued up when they have a lot of banders having it done (like they recon)
