Hospital Help

Hi Guys,

I am looking into a Gastris Bypass and would like to get some ideas of people to go with to do this procedure.
I live in the Cotswolds so would like someone near, or down south somewhere.
Any ideas gratefully received

Maybe noone local hence the nil replies...have you looked at wls group or the hospital group as a starting point?

Not sure what's in your area as in Dorset but understand Taunton is the NHS centre for the south west. I had mine done in Bournemouth the local NHS centre for my area. Not sure this will help you as I have no idea on private centres sorry.

Hi, I used the WLS Group as I was impressed by their aftercare package. I had my op in Orpington in Kent, which I can't recommend highly enough! Not sure where else they offer - it will tell all on their website. A friend had hers done at Chelsea and Westminster on NHS and thought that the service there was very good too. Good luck on your search - lots of information in various places on this website.

As a tip, you can't do much in the way of searches etc until you have 50 posts - lots of us use the wordgames to ramp up our posts to 50 Have a look around the various sub-categories and you should be able to find it.

I had my bypass done at st Richards in Chichester and I got fantastic service from them.

Mine was funded by the NHS and from sending the forms of to having my bypass was only about 16 weeks. Which is a lot faster than most NHS funded WLS.

Sorry, just seen this post. I live in Gloucester so quite local. I was really excited to find the hospital group as they have their own hospital - Dolan park in Evesham. I had my consultant appt in Bristol and was accepted for surgery and then found out that it would have to be done in Telford but that is still only hour and a half away. It is also reassuring to be on a private ward in a large hospital as should anything go wrong someone will be on hand.

On the other side the wind field in Longford do it and also the Nuffield in Cheltenham. Little more expensive and their surgeons aren't as experienced. Let me know if you would like to know anymore. My op is booked for may 4th
