I have heard a lot of people recommend peppermint teabags or peppermint cordial for the wind pains.
Good luck

Remember loose clothes loose pjs ones you can easily get on and slip on shoes are good too less bending over the better!!;) x

I took a pair of head phones in with my mp3 player and used them for the tv I had on my ward and I also took in (but didn't use)a mini bottle of ROBINSON`S SQUASHED juice makes around 20 drinks and fits into your handbag in the day I guess people would have packed a big bottle
I didn't get paper knickers so was allowed to wear my own don't do what I did I packed so much ,like 4 sets of pj knickers change of clothes must have thought I was on a mini break! I only changed out of the hospital gown 1 day after op ,but this was due to been tired and having a drip in my hand ,I didn't even bother to change for going home ,went home in my dressing gown!
ps small bath towel ,didn't see that on your list

Thanks guys.
I think I was asleep when I wrote the list.
I missed toothpaste toothbrush hairbrush towel dressing gown lol
I need to get organised I've only got a week !!!
At least I'm only at work tue-Thursday next week so I have a few days of sorting.
I was thinking what to wear coming home either loose leggings or some pjs as I won't be getting out car.

I really want it to hurry up but on the other hand I keep thinking something will happen where they can't do it !!!
Can't stop worrying

Xxx

Snap crystal I used my towel , rolled up instead of a cushion( 1 less thing to pack!)
Take something to put any jewellery into like ear rings , I didnt and lost an ear ring gave my sister the rest of my jewellery but forgot my ear rings
instead of a bra think about one of those sporting bra type things I couldn't be a***ed to put a bra on too much hard work when I still had a drip in my hand

loving this thread ! ive started thinking about my hospital bag ! makes it all so exciting and real !

ive put sugar free mints , baby wipes , slippers on mine to xxx

A couple of things come to mind:

Take enough of any current medication you are on. Make sure you mention these go the Dr/ nurse. Perhaps a day dispenser thing so you know if you took them.

Arnica tablets, very good for healing. Start them a couple of weeks beforehand if you can.

Hibiscrub - shower with this from 3 days before and if you need to in hospital. Drys your skin out but cuts the bugs on your skin and helps prevent infection. Think the jury is out if you can then use a body lotion. For a few days I don't bother.

Mind and have something on your phone/kindle/tablet to listen to. An audiobook or podcast. Hospital is boring and can take your mind off the pain. I wouldn't recommend taking a very expensive phone /tablet though. Got cheap things myself anyway.

Good luck :)
