How important are the Zoton Fast Tabs?

Hi guys,

I have a confession to make. I am a bit forgetful with the old pink, sweet, gritty, fast tabs!!!! :ashamed0005:

I forgot to put my repeat prescription in earlier in the week and have gone a few days without. I don't feel unwell because of it but know I should be having it.

Question is how important are they? What can happen if you dont take? And, are these for life??

Hi Claire they are to stop access acid building up in your tiny pouch...I am on them twice a day for six months then drop to one a day for either life or until my surgeon says I can stop....hope this helps..xx
 
i wasnt given them? ill ask about it at my follow up
 
Im on the 2 a day for 6 months and the one a day for life. To reduce the production of stomach acid and reduce the risk of ulsers along the sutured/ stapled areas
 
I was still taking them, when I went for my post op appointment on Tuesday just gone. I am 8wks post op on Sunday and my consultant said there is no need to take them anymore. She also said you only need to carry on with them if you are prone to acid reflux or other such problems. I would ask your own consultant chuck, as they are all and us too, different. :)
 
I was on them for a month pre op 2 a day and now Im post op I have just the one in the morning I have been told for life
 
I am on them 2x/day for 6 months and then 1x/day forever. You should be switching to the capsule now though, my doc had me switch to the capsule from the chewable after 2 weeks I think. They are much easier to remember if you put them in with your other supplements.

I take them anyway, I've suffered from reflux for years and this is one of the reasons I'm switching to bypass.

I was keep losing my voice as the acid was affecting my voicebox, long term this can cause oesophegal cancer, so in my case really important!! Don't panic though cos this might not be the case for you...x
