Thought I'd start a how long q & a thread for us to ask any time related questions at all. Serious, frivalous, sensitive or funny.
Here's a couple for starters:

How long after surgery till you could drive?

I was two weeks post op before i drove and then i stuck to local trips. You have to make sure you can do an emergency stop and also remember you need to be able to twist to look for traffic when at funny junctions, overtaking etc.

I was supposed to touch my toes? You're having a laugh, i'd just had open surgery :) x

:D

Bring on more silly questions, i love em x

I drove 2 weeks after surgery.. But as Julie said, I made sure I could do an emergency stop and twist to look for traffic etc...

I could touch my toes again about 1x week after surgery, But considering my size pre-op, I was pretty flexible for a BIG bird and never had any probs touching my toes,, now putting nail varnish on,, well that's a different matter,,,still can't do that myself! lol..

Keep asking silly stuff,,, brightens up my day!

Please remember with driving you MUST check with your insurance provider before you do. Generally, they will say that you cannot drive until a doctor has given you the ok (and then to check with your surgeon), but some insurers have their own timescales. My surgeon said no driving for 2 weeks, so if I had driven in that time my insurance would have been invalid.

i drove about 2 weeks after my op
i could always touch my toes before my op too lol

I had my op Monday and was told no driving for 2 weeks.

I can't drive so can't answer that one.
I can touch my toes now but I wouldn't have tried to in the first two weeks post op. It was hard enough just to get those damned dvt stockings on.

My question is:
How long after surgery did you stop going on the scales each morning?

Scales are banned in my house for this very reason. Boots, once a week is, and has always been my rule.
