how long between GP referal & funding decission

just wondered what the average time it took to get a decission on funding after the GP has made the referal ? also then how long till surgery ?

hi love everywheres different ,im in kent,but i got reffered in sept2010,got funding in oct 2010,,,,,,,had 4 appts at chelsea and westminster hosp,ie dietican,bariatric nurse,,surgeon, and a phone phyc/assessment,pre op in april, had one cancellation for surgery, ,and am now having my op on wednesday 28 sept,,,,so for me its a year from start to op,,,,good luck with your journey xxxx ,,,,

Bournemouth,only 4 weeks to see the surgeon and 4-5 months for op so every area is a law unto themselves!
Used to be one of the worst areas to get funding from!

two weeks or it could of been sooner....as the doctors didnt tell me a had to ring after i rang the PCT and they said it was a yes and a letter had been sent out but the doctor misplaced it. good luck

Hi babybell, I am also at SRH on the 29th for the gastroscopy. At in at 9.15 with regards to the 2 week thing is that for surgery. I was told between 4 to 6 if not sooner. But am not sure how true that is as am been told by other members on here there's a 6 month waiting list.

Are you worried about the camera ?
