how long did you all do ya liver diet for!!!

i have my opp booked for 4th feb 3 weeks yesterday and ive been on the slimfast for 5 days already my bmi is 49 how long do u think i should have beeen on the diet for have i started tooo soon !!!!!!!!

Didn't they give you a specific plan including how long? I will have to do mine for 3 weeks Xx

What my bariatric nurse said to someone (who'd been on the slimfast diet for a month and had now decided to eat chinese takeaways along with the slimfasts), was that they need 2 CLEAR weeks of liver shrinking diet before surgery, not doing it a month ago and now back to normal.

I started mine exactly two weeks before the op, as instructed.

Yes they did the op ... I'm 7 weeks post op .. I also took milk thistle .. That cleanser the liver .. I was willing to give anything ago .. Xx

Done mine for 12 days and lost 13lb, was amazed as i did change it about a bit but kept it very low fat,low sugar and carbs. All i ate was ryvitas, low cal soup and milk. I found it really hard.

I found it really hard to ... Think I lost 13lbs to .. I lived on slim fast , yogurts and veg etc .... Glad I'm back to normal food now ..xxx

I lived on borvil ... I love the stuff .. But I didn't really like slim fast . Who you having your WLS with ? Xxxx

im having my bypass at the homerton hosp
they said i had to stick to just slimfast no food ive lastest 5 day but really just needed so food so i just had a chicken breast and vegs and will cut out 2 slimfast do u think that will be ok

I think so .... But did they say how many weeks to do it for ? I was only told 2 weeks but every hospital are different xxx

not really the paper work juust said 2-4 week i started 5 days ago so that would be 3 and half weeks i think ill just carrie on tomorrrow but just had to have something to eat tonight but think a chicken breast and veg will be fine its no carbs or fat if im good from tomorrow thats still almost 3 weeks should be ok

I was instructed to do the milk diet for 10 days, surgeon sed my liver had shrunk perfectly and had no probs doing my bypass and hiatus hernia repair xx

I started my pre op diet on the 9th Dec and had my surgery on the 9th Jan, I am now 6 days post op. I am now on liquids only for the next 3 weeks before going onto pureed which I am not looking forward to that lol
