Im 8 weeks post op monday. But feeling sick pretty much all the time especially after eating. Is this normal or will it subside?? Xx

Are you actually sick? I was sick a lot at the beginning while learning my new portions but I didn't feel nauseous. If its nausea I'd suggest getting some acid tablets x

Never actully sick... Just nausea pretty much all time. But i will try some acid tables and see if it helps. Ive only been sick once of fish. I try not to push things things as i hate feeling/being sick. Which nobody really likes anyway lol xx

I was given anti acid dissolvable tablets to take home from hospital and haven't felt sick so maybe try them. I am finding it hard with food amounts

Yehh either to much or too little portions. End up chuckinh half away. Even tho its already a small amount. How far are you post op? Xx

Ask for some lanzaprole, they dissolve on your tongue. I was given them for 2 weeks post op but didnt need them after that. I had bad nausea on holiday after taking travel sickness tablets. I think my body was chucking out acid thinking it was food. I started taking them with a biscuit and it stopped. Definitely get some acid meds from your gp.

Portions are so hard because it depends how swollen you are. Weigh out 100g for your portion as that is your capacity but don't stress if you can't eat it all.

P.s I can only just do fish and I'm 5 months out. Fish cakes were better, especially the ones that have a sauce in the middle.

Farquar I am only 2 weeks post op- I'm finding that I will get uncomfortable from just 2-3 spoons of purée but then an hour or two later I feel hungry and then the rest of the time feel sick but I don't actually sick..hard to know what to try and when!

I could only manage a few teaspoons. It gets better don't worry x

This week I am feeling more nauseous than I have previously. I think it may be linked to me cutting down on the Lansoprazole, and being a bit more adventurous with the type of food I am trying. Hoping it will pass. One thing that makes feel really nauseous are the Forceval tablets, in fact thinking about taking them at the moment is making me feel unwell. I'm about 12 weeks today

Ive taken Lansoprazole this morning and felt a whole lot less sick. So thinking it maybe the answer. :)

100g. Makes things easier knowing roughly how much were meant to be having so will go by that. Partners always worrying im not eating enough. But im always stuffed lol.l xx

Oh good I'm pleased you're feeling better. My other half laughs at my portions but I feel fine. X

Every1 at work looks at me like... Thats all your eating. And then are amazed i dont even eat it all lool but i often feel ive had a 3 course meal haha xx

Also just out of curiosity does any1 have any goodies like treats? I no it sounds daft but if i have anything romotely tasty i feel guilty :-( but do we have to live our lives not enjoying anything??

Oh I do. Mini mince pies at the moment :)

Its cheese for me... Ever since i was born i loved cheese. Not bothered by chocolate or sweet things but savoury things. Hmmm mince pies. Gona miss those this year. Lol x

the trick is to learn to eat like "normal" people so its everything in moderation really and not abusing what you have. xxxx

You just need to portion control. I eat quite a lot of cheese now. If you're worried track your calories on my fitness pal. It took a while but I'm up to about 1000 - 1200 a day x

Im probly having 400/500 a day at the moment. So its ok to have a treat every now and again? Xx

Of course it is. I think is the trick is for this not to feel like a diet. As long as its bit every day it's fine.
