Just wondering if anyone can relate to not actually knowing their true dress size?

Yep I can Emm, before my band I had no idea what clothes size I was. I just brought clothes that looked like they would fit. Even now though sizes vary so much between shops dont they? x

I haven't a clue what my dress size is :)

Pre op I was squeezing into 22/24 but I was in denial and should probably have been a 26.

Now, the sizes vary so much from shop to shop, I have jeans in size 10,12 and 14 and they all fit! I have tops in 10s and 12's as well, yet my coat is a 16... Its really hard to buy clothes now, and I have to try things on in the store before I buy now.

i started at a size 26, last Christmas i was wearing a 12/14....now im back up to a size 18 hhhmmm x

Being a large cooking apple shape (I have relatively slim legs and arms) I really struggle - jeans fitted me in a 20 round the bum and legs but I had about an 8" gap at the zip! If I bought ones that fitted me round the waist the bum and legs looked baggy. Same with top half tops fitted in a 20/22 but gripped round my tummy so they looked awful. But in a 24 they just slipped off my shoulders or if they were low cut I looked like I might fall out of them (bending over was a definite no no!!)

Pleased my waist seems to be the most improved bit of me so far so the jeans now do up . . in fact I can even get into my 18's (but they are VERY stretchy!)

I used to end up buying clothes a size or two too big as felt the less they gripped round my middle the better. I even used to buy maternity clothes as the strechy waist was lovely!!!:eek::eek:

If the truth be known I lived in track suit bottoms and mens polo shirts then panicked if i had to go out . . . .

I'm more or less a 20 but a lot of the "trendy" shops' 20s don't fit me (like Dorothy Perkins or Top Shop). And the coat I bought Wednesday is a 22 from George

i wear from a 18 to 26 depending on shop, what sort of clothes etc etc, i guess and how i like them to fit, my 26's kinda hang off on me, fall to the floor.....but i like that makes me feel slim...~lol~

I started at a size 26 and am now a very comfortable 20 - although some 20's are too big. I still keep picking up clothes to try on that are too big when I go shopping. However I went out for a days shopping with my mate last Friday and went into a well known retailer and I saw a fab faux fur jacket size 20. That's for me I thought. I tried it on and nearly choked. The arms were too tight and my shoulders were hunched up under my ears and there was no way that it would ever do up. My friend was almost peeing herself as I couldn't get it off. Oh dear I said I can't have lost as much weight as I thought. As she helped me out of the rotten jacket she shrieked - you silly moo it's a size 10 on the wrong hanger!!!! Phew!

phew glad im not the only one :D all i know is that i no longer have to shop at Evans :D:D:D

Isn't that great not just having evans as your only shop!!.

my trousers are an 18, i have tops 18 to 24...the 18's must have the wrong label on:D can't wait to fit a real 18 though..roll on op date

Having gone from a 32/34 to a 10/12 - its tken me a long time to actually be prepared to try the right size on.

But you bet if there is a sale all the nice things are too big :(

It took me till I was too small for Evans to unsubscribe form their website - like when I'd been a size 12 for months!!

Trouble is there's TOO much choice now ;) - boo hoo and I have NO idea what suits me

Love waisted trousers though!! - its the first time in my life I'm the same size top and bottom

xxx

I genuinly dont know what size I am! I have size 18 jeans but need to wear a belt or they would fall down! Tops probably 18 but no idea really. I know I started off at 30/32 back in March (tops) and 28 in trousers, butr now ???????????????? My problem is I dont know where to shop. Having shopped in Evans for years( 15ish) where do I go now? I feel really insecure when I walk into a clothes shop and tend to walk straight out!

I think it varies from shop to shop! There is definitely a sizing conspiracy going on...

I started off 24/26 and am happy in a size 20 right now, have just brought a pair of size 18 jeans off ebay can't wait to see how small they are on me lol xx

i dont tend to buy many clothes, cos i dont go out of the house much, but what i do buy, i usually buy from tesco, cos i know that their sizes are normally a good fit for me, and are a comfy fit. at the moment im in a 14 jeans, 16 top, which is probably about right cos im always bigger up the top end.
