I know that was the whole point of having a gastric bypass but I just can't summon up any enthusiasm to eat anything. I take a spoonful of something and then just get the "boke". Sorry this may be a scottish word. Anyway it makes me feel yucky. All I am having just now is weetabix for brekkie, some soup for lunch and then a shake or something else for tea.

I tried scrambled egg yesterday but that didn't go down well at all. Could you all maybe advise me of what you are eating on a day to day basis.

Thanks in advance.

Hiya andrea, welcome to the loosing side. Hun it is early days for you yet and it is very much trial and error. Some foods might make you feel yucky others will go down fine one day and not the next, but i promise you it will get better. Everybody is different on the amounts they can tolerate. It is a gradual process so don't try to rush it and listen to your new stomach it will let you know what it is ready for. Hope this helps Janey :):)

Hi

I had my opon 13th Oct and have been fine until this week and now suddenly I can't seem to work up any enthusiasm to eat and feel queasy a lot of the time so I know how you feel. I've gone from feeling pretty good last week to really rather ropey and wondered if perhaps I've picked up a sicky bug but it's hard to tell what's what these days.

Hopefully things will right again next week if it is a bug and if not I'll just have to persevere with the eating.

Lynda, that is exactly how I feel. Sometimes very queasy and really can't be bothered eating. I wondered if it was because I was fed up eating the same food. I have been really well too up till this week. I'm just drinking an innocent smoothie just now, have had a sip and can feel my stomach turning. Maybe I am doing something wrong?? Oh well, hopefully things will improve soon.

Thanks to all who replied.

You have done nothing wrong - this is totally normal. What I would advise is to keep your fluid intake up and just keep trying different stuff till you find something you actually can summon up some enthusiasm for. Protein is really important so if you can manage something in the egg region or a bit of chicken or soup with chicken or beef in it, that would be good, Im nearly 7 months post op and my appetite has just just started coming back. It does get easier promise.
