I think I have got something stuck!!

SARAH S

Here comes the new me
I have been struggling to swallow anything today.

I know I've obviously eaten something without chewing enough but I don't know what to do about it now!! I'm a bit uncomfortable all the time but if I try even a drink of water its very hard to swallow and painful...I haven't tried to eat anything other than soup and a yogurt for fear of "filling up" if you know what I mean!!

Any ideas guys!!!! Help!!

If I've ever had something stuck it normally passes within the hour. Sure it's not something else with it lasting as long. Has this happened before to you?

Walk around and stretch. I find i just need to burp! Lol xx

have you tried sipping tea.. as being hot that might help xx

Aw Sarah ... so sorry you are having trouble, babe :wave_cry: What had you eaten as your last meal before this feeling came on? No fish bones?? or the like.
You can't just leave it as you need to get your fluids in so if you are no better tomorrow, it's a phone call to your team or GP. All food will either go up or down but if it is something like a fishbone, you need help. Hope you feel better soon. sweetheart xxx :wave_cry:

Hope I get it sorted soon Hun x

Thank you all for your concern..I had a bit of sausage (good meaty one!!) driving in the car and didn't chew it properly, nearly had to stop the car as it hurt so much going down:cry:

I can honestly say that this has never happened before so wasn't sure what would happen, but I never expected it to stay there for so long

Spent all day yesterday feeling rubbish only having soup and tea, the warmth did help. Last evening I tried a bit of very tender beef and it went down ok. Overnight kept trying to drink water. Unfortunately the little one had diarrhea all night so not much sleep for anyone:sigh:

This morning much better But I still knew I'd done something and even now I can feel discomfort in my chest and back when eating or drinking..but not bad now. I think by tomorrow it will be all gone.

Will not be trying it again...chew...chew...chew for me:)

Cheeky:eek:!!

Your pouch is probably a bit swollen now due to said sausage in car.. so soft foods to help you get back to 'normal' should help xx

That must have been very scary for you. How did you realise it was the sausage?

I felt it go down and it hurt then:cry: Just wasn't thinking!!

I think you're right, its still feels like its there but I know it must have moved now...like you say its probably a bit swollen so I've been on nice and easy eating...I'm sure it will be fine now though I really will be trying hard not to do it again

No more sausages in the car for me!!

oh bless ya.... i guess when we are doing things like walking around or driving a car we are not concentrating on what we are eating... whereas post op we could dance around and eat without thinking about it.... now post op we have to think and relax... hard work isnt it lol x

Glad your feeling better. Hope it was a chip shop sausage covered in batter at least it wud have been worth the pain lol.
Only joking
