Had my Endoscopy on Wednesday just gone and was told I had a hernia. which is fine as they will sort it whilst there in. BUT.. also got told I had inflammation and may need anti-biotics. Told them my surgery was booked for the 25th and they said they would hurry things through incase I need to take the antibiotics for a week. Well, I rang on Friday late avo, and she was just going through them, explained my situation again and got a blunt, "well am doing them now". Waited for a call and nowt. Now if I ring on Monday and get told I do indeed need these anitibioticsa n it puts by surgery back, as I will have only had them 6 days b4 op day, I will literally screammm!!! xx

If they say it will take a week of anti-biotics then, so long as you start them by lunchtime on Monday, you will finish them by lunchtime the following Monday and, if it's 3 doses a day, then the last dose will be Monday morning.

Fingers crossed it all goes well for you, keep the faith that it will all be sorted out by Monday lunchtime.

I would go to docs first thing Monday, and if you need them, ask for a stronger dose to be taken over 5 days.

Hi Jema. Could you go to the walkin centre Sunday to get the prescription? there's one in jarrow palmers hospital open 8 til 8? Might be worth a try to start the anti biotics earlier.

Sounds like you have helicobacter pylori infection. The treatment is set at 7 days and are set doses, if you don't get anywhere when you telephone on Monday get straight in touch with secretary and she can speak to consultant.
