Does anyone know whether we can take these after gastric sleeve? Some say to avoid all together and some after 3 months xxx

I know they are a no no for bypassers. But I'm not sure about the sleeve. I'm sure someone will be along soon to answer your question :)

I was told they dont sit well with the stomach after a bypass and to avoid them at any cost but like Paula said, this advice is given to gastric bypass patients :)

Ooh dear. That doesnt sound good. Ill try and contact the hospital and see if they know. But cant till monday xxx

Doc h said it was ok to take with a sleeve as were on omeprazole. Not sure If we can Have them aftet we stop taken the omep. I dont take it as i. On codein for osteo arth of knee.

Its just ive got a baad chest infection so havin paracetamol every 4 hours and anti biotics and its making my stomach do summersults. And that sickie kind og burp so getting a bit worried now x

Ibuprofen, aspirin and voltarol are amongst the pain killers that act on your stomach lining, hence if you have had bariatric surgery they are generally best avoided. Paracetamol are kinder to your stomach and don't have the same action. If you are feeling discomfort it could be the antibiotics Farquar rather than the paracetamol that you are taking (sorry to the OP for the hijack!) as antibiotics can destroy the 'good' bacteria that are in your gut as well as the 'bad' bacteria they are supposed to destroy. You could try taking them along with one of those yoghurt drinks like live actimel or similar to see if that helps?
