Ah Emma hun I am sorry your in pain, I think you should call NHS direct and speak to someone in the know....its not right that you are in so much pain and it may be something else and not the band so please go speak to someone NOW!!!!...xx

hi serenity it feels like the crushing pain of wind but 100times worse.. i havent had any burning or reflux so not sure if its to do with acid.. what is driving me mad is that i am so far gone now and sticking to book and doing everything they say but now this. i cant even say its because i have done this or that... i cant live with a couple of weeks well and then ill all the time.
im discharged from surgeon now so they dont want to speak with me.. if it doesnt settle i will ring emergency doc
thanks hun

hi lind
i only said the same thing to my mum yesterday, i may be assuming its related to band but may just be a coincidence..

I don't know anything about WLS - but could not read and run either ....

Ring your GP or NHS direct and see what they say - better for them to say than us.

Hope you get it sorted and soon feel better.

hi emma, sorry to hear that you are really suffering at the moment but i agree with everyone that it would be wise to ring nhs direct as your health must come first. i am sorry i cannot offer any other advise as i have not had my band fitted yet, but i have to admit that i am now panicking about having my op next thursday after reading your story. take care and let us know how you get on x

I agree with the others, ring NHS direct, visit your A&E department at your local hospital. It could be gallstones hun, they can be really painful, but you MUST do something about it tonight x x x

sounds like the pain I had the other night after eating too much - have you tried gripe water and calpol combined?? gripe water will help gas and calpol will help muscle spasm type thing and may just help??

Hiya

Yes you must seek advice to make sure all is ok. But im sure all is ok you just are unlucky to have pain which will be there untill it all settles.

You must ask your doctor for Codiene liquid form , this will help so much but make sure its liquid. im surprised the hospital didnt give you some to come home with . i got 2 bottles of it

I hope all goes well and it settles down soon. just dont be affraid to tell the doctor what you want..

Hiya Em
I am really sorry to hear about your pain. Have you vomited at all? I had an awful pain in my chest and found it hard to breathe after I had been sick. When I called the nurse at WGA, she said that I had bruised my stomach, and that it would take 24-48 hours for it to settle down. and I was told to go on a liquid diet for the whole period of 24-48 hours to give the stomach and band a rest. How long have you had the pain? has it increased or stayed the same? If you can get liquids down that is a good sign, Try calling WGA and speak to one of the nurses there they are helpful. If they are not available I would definately go to the A&E, they will xray if they are concerned at least it will give you a piece of mind that the band is ok. Don't wait too long.
Let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you.

who is it that has just descovered they have gall stones. I had my gall bladder removed 20 yrs ago and my memory is scketchy but the pain was unbelievable and so was the nausea, if it doesnt ease go to a &e
