Inside Nature's Giants - 4oD - Channel 4

I watched this on Channel 4 earlier this evening and discovered a few interesting facts:

** hippos are not fat, they just have gigantic stomachs

** they really are "big boned" to prevent them floating to the top and keep them weighted to the bottom of the sea bed, their limb bones are not hollow and filled with bone marrow, but 100% dense bone all the way thru.

** they are more geneatically similar to whales than other herbivorous creatures (such as sheep) which were previously thought to be their common ancestors.
