Bandy
First glass of milk

Well that's the first one!! 7 days on the milk diet for me!!! Have many people struggled drinking the milk?? X

Good luck to you! I did the milk diet out of choice (it wasn't an option given to me by my provider) but found it much easier to take food out of the equation.

It was hardest around day 3 going into day 4, at which point it is common to feel tired, headachey etc, but I didn't find it too difficult at all, the 2 weeks flew by, but it also helped me for post band because of being on liquids only, it really helps to focus and be in the right mindset for the start of your journey.

I love milk, so didn't struggle, although it was hard to drink the amount, I made milk jelly so that I had something to "eat" but still within what I was allowed to have, and also helped me to get the amount of milk in :)

I didn't do the milk diet but just wanted to say ............. wayyyyhayyyyy, not long now!!

I've also chosen to do the milk diet instead of the low cal as I also want to get used to just having fluids! This time next week!! YAY xx

I done the milk diet befor my band iv not drunk milk since and am dreading doing it again although I did find it very therapeutic in breaking a food connection and getting me ready for surgery

Won't be long, its surprising how quickly the time passes :) I can't believe my band will be 11 months old this month :)

Wow, what has your weight lose been like? X

Ha ha moo moo! I feel the same already!! X

I've lost 9 stone 4lbs so far and still have yet to find particular restriction with my band, if I wanted to (and this is the difficult bit) I can eat whatever I want and in whatever amount I want, and that is the tough part . . .

I chose to do the milk diet instead of what my hospital recommended im on day 4 and im feeling alright actually yesterday I had the worst headache ever but I think the worst is over! The best bit was when I stepped on the scales this morning to see ive lost 6lb :)

Well done, you must feel amazing. Is that common with the band? I thought it was there for restriction? I'm a bit worried now!

Wow that's fantastic! Not looking forward to the headaches... I've just had a yogurt and will have my oxo drink later! Feeling a little grumpy already... Gawd help the hubby!!!!

But worth it!
Keep your focus on the reward you'll be getting at the end of it and you'll breeze through it xx

Thank you Tracy. I keep thinking skinny jeans, skinny jeans!!!!! Xx

The first couple of days are the hardest! Find out if you're allowed NAS jelly, in which case you can make a milk jelly and that helps with the fullness.

Also, froth the milk in a blender with ice cubes, it bulks it up and makes you feel fuller, you can also make a smoothie type drink with milk, yoghurt and ice, again, thicker so fills you up and is a way of using the milk allowance that you have :)

After day 3 and often into 4 that is when the body changes, (hence the headache) and it is often past this point that the hunger that you feel will ease and as many people find, disappear altogether :)

Thank you Kat. I will try a smoothie. I am hoping the feeling of hunger will go away. I've been off work for 3 days so I am hoping when I am back to work tomorrow (4 x 12 hour shifts) my mind won't be on food like it is at the moment! Xx

Wooo hoooo I'm on the last day of the milk diet! The first three days killed me but surprisingly it got easier. 13 hour shift today then up at 4 tomorrow to get to Dolan Park for 7, I don't feel nervous at all. It's this normal!!!! X

I was the same on my pre-op diet ... I had two weeks on Optifast: a mix of shakes and bars for 11 days with a cup of non-starchy veg each day, then three days of shakes only. I was quite hungry to start with so was dreading the final three days but by the timeI got there it was a piece of cake (not literally, lol).

Well done on getting to the end x

Not long now and you'll be with us on the bench x
