It's been 2 weeks since my op????

Jezabelle

Quitting is NOT an option
So why arn't I losing any more weight
Since last week I have come to a stand still. I've lost 10lbs since the 1st March but no more  I'm still on fluids and my calorie intake is around 300 to 500 calories a day!

I'm having 1 or 2 slimfasts a day.
A few glasses of sugar free cordial & plain water.
2 large mugs of coffee a day, 1 of those is sometimes made with ss milk.
1 pot of framage frais

Could it be that my fluid intake isn't enough?
Could it be that I am just sitting on my bum all day other than the usual housework that I do?
I want to go on my wii plus board but people keep telling me it's too soon as did the dietician. :(
I had a hysterectomy some 7 years ago so the monthlys can't be it either

I'm starting to wonder if there is something else wrong with me, surely the weight should be dropping off me with the amount of calorie intake I am consuming.... Arghhhhh!!!

Any ideas to kick start the weight loss would be appreciated purrrrlease.

Your body has gone from having lots of food to no food, it will stop burning things from different areas and protect itself in the short term.

Don't worry. This first stage is all hit and miss for a lot of people. It will eventually settle and when you start taking more in, the weight will begin to come off again.

You need to consume more hun, 300-500 calories a day is far too little. Your body may have gone into starvation mode and thats why your holding on to the weight.

Try sticking to the slim fasts but adding some whizzed up soups to your daily menu to up your calories.

I was adviced at your stage to be on around 1,000 calories a day.

It does sound like you could increase your fluids too. I know it seems like all your doing at this stage is drink, drink, drinking but a bit of variety could liven things up and kick start your loss again.

Good luck x

heya hun, im also having issues with weightloss so iu sympathise with you, xx

Hi there,

Firstly take it easy on yourself, you are new to this and its not going to magically drop off overnight, it will take months to years to loose the weight and keep it off.

Also I agree your calorie limit is way tooooo low...800-1000 is closer to the mark, so you need to look at that issue.

Banding is a procedure of patience and mysterious things. For a start it can take a while to get restriction well enough to keep a steady weight loss. But also like every other diet you will stall. Its the bodies way of catching up with what is going on.

Thank you for all the replies and tips :)

I'm going to try my best to up my calorie intake today. It's hard to on the fluid stage. I have another 2 weeks on this (Heartlands Hospital Rules) then they say 2 weeks of slops then blended food for a further 2 weeks and then I can go onto "normal food"!

I was also having skinny cow chocolate drinks but havn't had them since week one.

I still don't feel hungry but do get the occasional time when I fancy food, especially when I'm cooking food for my husband.

I've purchased some baby bells they are 43 cals each I think. Going to nibble on one of those a day for the protein and try and drink more milk or milky coffee or with the skinny cow.

Thank's again :)

Baby Bel's were my lifesaver in the beginning as well.
