Well yesterday I received my date for my pre op, 6th Jan and confirmation that I need to be nil by mouth from midnight that night and that I have to be in hospital for 10am on the 7th for surgery that day. I also received the invoice for payment which I know is a lot of money but I feel totally justified in spending as it is to improve my health!! All of a sudden though it all seems real, and that I am actually going to have this done. I cant wait! No nerves or second thoughts I just want to have this done and to be able to start on my new begining.

It is the best money spent. I will never regret a single pence that I spent on my bypass. In 9 days my life has completely changed for the better.

Just want to say hi, and wish you all the very best for January, and the start of your new life xxxxx

Wishing you all the best for your op - it really is a change for the better. :)

Thanks for the support everyone. I know this is the right thing for me and i can't wait for this chance of a new life and a new me!:D

January wil be here before you know it x good luck with the pre-op diet, will you have to do it over christmas ?

Hi Rybens, I start my pre op diet on 28th December so at least I have a chance to eat my last huge christmas dinner...lol. Next year I should be able to enjoy christmas dinner, but in a much smaller portion.:p

Excellent news Lorna - good for you hun! New year new start!

Thanks Sharron & Salski.I have to confess Im not looking forward to doing the pre op diet over New Years Eve as we have a party to go to but I will just have to keep reminding myself that it is worth it and stay well away form all food and drink!!

If you can afford to ignore the cost of the operation then you shouldnt even worry about it... Your health and your future is priceless to your future, to quote a famous hair colourant manufacturer

"Why? Because you're worth it" xxxx

Good luck x

I have been working away for a few days and had some quiet time on an evening to sit and think. The 2 only things that have been on my mind are the fact that I am never going to be sorted for christmas with my shopping etc but also about the operation. I have been making sure 100% that I am ready for this and the more and more I have thought about it, even looking at the down sides of the op I know that this is definatly the right thing for me.

Thank you all for your support and Rybens although your Chrismas lunch won't be what you are used to, I bet that this Christmas will be the one that you remember the most in the future as the year that you took action and started on your new life!!!!
