Ive had enough - updated

FEDup1981

I WILL look like this!!
Sorry to moan, but just feel like ive made a huge mistake.

This nerve damage pain is making my life hell. Seriously, i cannot cope with it any more. Id be ok if i didnt have this.
Ive woke up this morning in terrible pain, and ive done nothing but cry.
Tramadol doesnt touch it, ive tried my TENS machine. Nothing.
I cant walk, or lay down without getting these horrendous shooting pains, that freeze me to the spot. Theyre awful.

Ive just had enough, ive read it can take months to heal, and i cant go on like this for months. Im wishing id never had it done now.

Update:
I went to walk in centre, waited 2 hours, and was almost fobbed off, but in the end i was given a Fentanyl patch, which is a controlled drug and very strong. He had to check he could prescribe it, but luckily he could. Its the tiniest bit of see through plastic, not much bigger than a stamp. And it lasts 72hrs! Its amazing what they can do. Its on now, so we'll see.
First thing monday morning, ill be on the phone to my speciialist nurse, & docs.

BTW - its DEFINITLEY not wind!!!!

i'm so sorry you are feeling like this, sorry i cant offer any advice as ive not had my procedure done yet. but im sending you ((((big hugs)))) x

I know Tramadol is strong as I take it myself.

If I were in that much pain I'd go to the hospital or phone the Dr for advise you may need something stronger for the pain.

HiYa Hun,
I am so sorry your feeling a lot of pain, Its still early days hun and I am sure sooner rather than later your gonna start an feel a lot better, I sorry I can't help and I wish my words could take the pain away for you, But just wanted to say Hang in there and don't give up, It will be Sooooo Worth it in the end, Try and remember why you had this Op done. I promise you will start to feel better soon.
Give your sergeon a call to see if there is anything else to help the pain. (((BIG HUGS TO YOU X)

sorry your feeling unwell go and ask for extra pain relief maybe they can prescribe something like diclofenic to take with the tramadol for that extra bit zap for the pain xxx

:hug99: can you contact your surgeon and arrange to go back and see them?

havent a clue what to do with it being saturday. Im thinking about going to the walk in centre. Im getting light headed from not being able to breath normally.
We just went to morrisons, and ive been in agony all the way round with the tens machine on max. It usually goes off when im sat but today it hasnt.
Im so fed up. If it wasnt for that pain id be doing ok.

Monday morning im ringing the surgeon, but im buggered til then.

Thanks everyone, ur so kind, all i do is moan. Feeling so sorry for myself.

Ihope you feel better soon and are you sure you have not got trapped wind because i did and could hardly breath at one point thought i was about to pop off so i took lots of gripe water and my husband winded me like ababy but it did work thank god.Big hugs coming your way

Hey come on sweetheart. You can get through this, you just need better pain relief. If you can't cope untill monday then go to the walk in surgery and tell them how much pain you're in and ask for a different pain relief. Hang on in there as it will be really worth it in the long run even if it doe'snt seem like that now. Ring me if you need anything.
HUGE HUGS xxxxGaynorxxxx

so sorry this is happenning for you.

I had nerve problems after one of my c sections and it is bloody painful luckily it went after a couple of weeks

All I can suggest is like the others more pain relief not much help I know

just wanted you to know I am thinking of you

liz

I agree with the others - go to the walk in centre it does sound as if you need stronger pain relief and if it does get worse then don't hesitate and go to an A & E closest to you - hope you get some relief soon - gentle hugs to you x

ah chick sorry your having such pain, it really is early days though and I am sure once it does settle down (and it will) you will enjoy your journey with the bypass....as others have said you need to get stronger pain killers what suits one is not always strong enough for someone else....hang on in there it will get better ((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))....xx

Sorry but I disagree with all the stronger painkiller/it will get better comments. Tramadol is a very strong painkiller and if thats not touching it then you need medical advice.

If you can't reach your surgeon till Monday then either contact the hospital ward that discharged you or go to your local out of hours doctors/a&e. Walk ins are generally manned by nurses and if you go there they will just send you to a&e anyway.

This much pain is not normal, and should not just be ignored.

thank u everyone, Ive updated 1st post xx

im glad they have given you something for the pain and hopefully it should kick in soon, hopefully your specialist can give a reason why this is happening on monday.
i hope you feel better soon.

Hey Fed up

If you had it done privately they should have a 24 hour advice line. I have one via surgicare. Do you want that number?

Really hope the patch works, but can't help worrying and would urge you to go to A&E if it happens again.

Yoyo

Thanks everyone. Yo-yo - Im NHS not private, so got to wait til monday morning before i can get in touch with my nurse or surgeon.
Just read the patch can take 12-24hrs before u start to feel the full effect. Im ok so far, pain has settled. Got tens on too.

HI fed up You should be feeling better now with the Fentanyl patch that is strong and is used for some terminal illness so it should give you relief and it will cover you till you can get in touch with the team or ward you were in on Monday
I think shelbell is right you need to be re assessed to make sure things are progressing allright and if not they will be able to help
Big hugs to you

Love n hugs Jay xx
