... and didn't eat a damn thing :(

How unhealthy is that place? I mean, of course it is we all know that, but it's just hit home how much.

There wasn't ONE single thing I could eat at this stage post-op. And as I didn't want a hot drink my only option was water.

Does anyone long term post-op ever eat in MacDonalds and if so, what?

i have had the deli chciken salad roll, with d coke, no fries thats ok x

I had the char grilled salad when I went to meet Kerry.

Plus a bottle of water...

Can recommend the char grilled salad... took me ages to eat it and it was tasty and low fat. xxx

It'll happen Karen xxx

be careful of the salads ladies ..they have fat and sugar hidden in the dressings...
google the chains website they have a full nutritional break down of there products.(its quite shocking on some of them) x

True Lisa, I realised that, but had mine without the dressing, the dressing came separate with my order Lisa, but an excellent point to be aware of... mayonnaise can be so high alongside others... my salad was plain and the chicken just char grilled plain... with bottled water..., but it's my favourite if I have to go to McDonalds with my Godchildren. My own family are well past me needing to be with them lol... and I'm glad I don't have to go to fastfood places anymore with young children...

My two only get to go to that chain when we have been to see relatives during school hols that live a distance from us(and we don't get home in time for dinner)
every time I go I get more frustrated at the rubbish food(poorly cooked) and the lack of choice..
I am a vegetarian so nothing for me !!!..lol
But the kids see it as a treat so I don't mind..

I know Lisa, I always found that the taste not to my liking and I don't like the gherkin etc on the burgers... you could eat them so quickly consume so many calories, plus a choc milk shake and still be damn hungry after McDonalds meals... expensive too...

I hear what your all saying but i love McD's & i'm not going to pretend that i'm not going to miss the odd trip there, lets be honest there was a reason i got this size.......put it this way i have NEVER gone into a McD's or any other fast food chain & had a salad.....i would sooner not go in there!!!! :wave_cry:

Hahahaha Em., I know what you are saying, I felt out of place.... but I was on my way to the Salford group meeting and the guilt wouldn't allow for me to have anything other than a salad... I was still eating that when all the burgers everyone else was eating had long gone... haha...

Love and hugs xxx

I have been once since my op with my kids, they had their normal happy meals and i had some chicken nuggets, but it is certainly no fun anymore!

I've been to McDonalds a few times recently with the kids!

They do a little chicken wrap thing called a Little Taster, it is really really good, with a choice of sauces!

I usually have garlic and herb. It is about 2-3 inches long and it is just about the perfect size for my lunch, and easily fills me up till tea time!

Oh I liked those pre-op so it's nice to know you can manage one now.

I have to be honest, I often take my kids there! I love the pickle in a burger, it really makes the burger lol
The kids always have chicken nuggets as they actually seem like proper lumps of chicken, so they get away with it :) If we have the money then they get to go maybe once a week...
I know they do salads and I havent bought myself to try one yet, but i am tempted - I hate most dressings anyway so that wouldnt be a problem for me.
I also like the fact that you can get carrots instead of chips in the kids meals. I know it isnt the healthiest place - but we dont go there becuase its healthy right? I think even after surgery, I will still go and at least get the kids something from there they really enjoy it and as long as it isnt every day i see no harm in letting them have an end-of week treat.
