and im wondering what causes these leaks?... is it due to surgery going wrong? or just something thats a 'risk' for having these type of ops, and where is it leaking to and from?...

Im thinking the same too,as only having my op 2 weeks ago,its a bit worrying.
And I feel sick that this is happening to charis,and I was only chatting to her last night x

i know its very scary, and i have to say im very distressed for her as she was left very vunerable and scared in the care in srh so to have to go back and face further 'open' surgery is a very scary thing for her i should imagine.... im hoping and praying everything goes smooth and to plan for her ...

im feeling abit 'worried' now for the op xx

I think the leak come from where they make our pouches but remember Charis was rushed back into theatre after her initial surgery. She's also had a lot of nausea etc. since her op so maybe all of these things were factors that summit was right. I just hope she fully recovers soon as I imagine it will take longer to get over open surgery.

Hopefully, I get to visit her over the week-end so I'll keep you updated on how she is. Charis & I both hold a deep hatred of SRH, which wasnt help after the way she was nursed when she had her bypass. However, she is on the same ward I was on at the week-end & I honestly can not complain about the care I received.

Hi Kelly

Its very sad and worrying but unfortunatly there are risks and complications that can occur just like with any surgery. 'Leaking' as a complication apparantly happens in less than 2% of cases though.

so very rare, i just googled it , everything of mine is crossed.......surely theyd operate tonight tho if it was life threatening?...... im clinging onto that cos its tomorrow they feel its not so serious maybe?... i dont know x
