Just some questions

I am 13 months post op, I have lost just under 3 stone and my weight loss has come to a halt.

I am iron and b12 deficient could this be due to band?
I am 2.5ml in to a 5ml band. They won't let me have another fill without a 7day precise food diary, is this normal?
I am getting the pain in the shoulder still, should I be worried?
What's the best way to kick start weight loss? I seem to have lost my motivation.
Is it good to eat a lot of fruit? I use it to snack as I am hungry ALOT

As my provider is in prague, it is hard to discuss a lot of things with them!

Thanks in advance! Hope everyone else is doing good

I can only say what I did...cut the snacks, 3 meals. High protein low carb meals, at least 60/70g protein daily with the same amount but as a max of carbs daily (that's hard) and fruits are carb heavy so watch out! Cal wise 850 suited me but for some I know will say its a bit low, but my body didn't go into starvation mode, on the contrary...and exercise. If you want to lose it takes real focus and hard work, it's not impossible but it's def mind over matter. Here if you want any help xx

Oh and sorry in answer to your question, it sounds like they perhaps don't trust you're doing all you can foodwise and maybe that's why they want to see your food diary? It's not abnormal, but guessing you either don't have one or are not confronting some things that pop in your mouth?! (lol) :) easy done I know!! :) let today be a new start xx

Not sure about the b12, but my consultant said that iron deficiency can be a common problem for banders. Not sure if it's a problem for me, but I have had anaemia in the past and with an op due in three weeks time, I am taking liquid iron just to help. As Jo said, a food diary is not a bad thing, as it can highlight what's going well, and what needs tweaking. I am one of those banders who eats more calories, snacks healthily, eats carbs and fats in moderation and still loses weight. But my focus first and foremost is on getting enough protein, then achieving the balance, which means I don't go off track. Sometimes the shoulder/wind pain can be as a result of eating too little, eating too much, or just eating the wrong type of foods. Maybe too much fruit could be creating too much acid, but without more information it's difficult to say. If you complete an accurate/honest diary your provider will be able to guide in the right direction hopefully. Good luck :)

Thanks guys...

I feel I can eat loads which makes me think something's not right!
I struggle with meat though, is there any other proteins you can advise??

Thanks
Xx

If you struggle with meats you obv have restriction, what about wafer thin meats? Fish is high in protein too? If you google high protein foods there's lots on the net but take the nuts with a health warning as whilst good for protein they're also fatty!! Babybel lights are a great snack! X

I get the shoulder pain if I eat to much and also if I eat broccoli as it gives me trapped wind ( sorry if this is TMI ) lol x

Low fat corned beef, eggs, cheese, yoghurts, milk, fish, sandwich meats are all good. I use minced turkey to make meat balls which are fab too :D
