Hi folks

Been reading lots of stories on here and then finally decided in December to talk to GP. I've just got my appointment for the seminar, quite nervous now.

Was getting a bit worried cos I hadn't heard anything, now I'm worried cos I don't know what's going to happen now.

Maybe I just need something to worry about :)

Hi, I was referred by GP beginning of Oct and saw consultant at end of Nov. Now I have to wait for a 12 week weight management course before he puts in for funding if I've lost a stone. I now have a start to see the dietician on 26 March. It's all going too slow! Lol. Good luck and welcome x

Hi panda, i was referred by my gp 4 weeks ago, just been sent for blood tests but waiting to hear about any appointment....please let me know how you get on,
Sue x

Hi Panda and welcome.

Which hospital are you going to as it seems that the rules and criteria are different in each area. If you put which hospital other members may be at the same hospital and may be able to help you xx

Hello and welcome! I am also new :) I'm currently waiting for my date for a bypass. Good luck with your journey xx

Thanks everyone. I'm at Sunderland hospital, but no idea which consultant.
Hi panda, I had my seminar in Sunderland in September 2012, a few month after seminar had a appointment with a bariatric nurse who asked me loads of questions and the dietician who set me a weight loss target, approximately 5 month after that my next appointment was with the surgeon who discussed my weight loss and 'issues' and what op he recommended, then about a month later, the camera down (October 2013) that was when I was officially put on the list as I had list the weight they asked and significantly changed my eating habits. Had my bypass 4th jan. The staff at Sunderland were great and for me or was quite an easy journey. Good luck xxx

Hi Panda, I am at Sunderland too!! so are you worried about the seminar? Ask me anything you like and I will try to help xx

Also, there is a support group the last thursday of every month at the education centre. It is for pre and post oppers, very informative for those wanting to research too x
