did you have any medical problems which had to stabilise before the surgery could be carried out?
I had to have 1 appt with a haematologist but other than that no

Hiya gr09.
I was refered by my GP in november last year i was seen by consultant in february and i have my bypass this thursday.
I would have had it sooner but it was found i have sleep apnoea and had to be on CPAP treatment for a month before surgery. x
A blood specialist Hun.
I first saw the surgeon in November and had my op Monday just gone. I have weighed myself and lost 1.3st but I was 27st on the operating table so it depends on so many things.
When is your appt with surgeon?
i havent received it yet as i literally only finished counselling friday, is it normal to want to just get in the operating theatre lol ive been wanting this surgery since i was 16 and have been waiting and compliant the whole way through i just want to see the light at the end of this tunnel
Oh gosh of course that's normal. How old are you now? It can take a while to get the appt. every place is different but I had a 4 month wait just for the appointment
im 22 this year but i was close to getting the surgery at the begining of the year and then found out that i had to attend the 4healthyweight program then i completed the counselling she said ill attend the warts and all seminar as well as meeting the surgeon so hopefully wont be to long. where are you im in kent near dover
What is the warts and all seminar?
I am 23 and have had a 5 year long battle of trying to get this so I am with you completely. It is such a roller coaster when you do get your surgery date, I cried, wondered if I really wanted it, screamed etc. Was so weird.
I am in cambridgeshire and was operated in London.
Hi I was referred In October, had seminar and appointment with consultant 23rd December, given a target of 6kg to lose (which I did) then had a total meltdown and said the bypass was too major and I wanted the band (talked out of it, and after research glad I was) then I got a date (which I suggested) of 17th July. Op done last Thursday at James Cook by the amazing Mr Dressner and his team. I feel fine, I was so worried but thankfully I was in very safe hands, the staff there are fantastic, I would do it again in a heartbeat, don't let the long wait think negatively, use it to make the positives work. Good Luck. xxI guess it's different everywhere. I'm at Sunderland and the seminar is the first thing I did. Went to the seminar last October, saw the dietician in Nov, waited til Jun to see the surgeon, now waiting for an endoscopy. After that I'll have another wish to see the surgeon and all being well at that point will get listed and have to wait up to 16 weeks for surgery.
Even writing that process is long and exhausting!!!! I've resigned myself to a loooooong wait, trouble is the longer I wait the more I convince myself it's not a good idea!
Good luck.on your journey, hope you don't havd to wait too long x
