Lemsip capsules at 4 months post bypass - yay or nay?

The ingredients will be fine (I think) but its the plastic "capsule" thingies that they are in that are making me think twice about taking them.

Should be fine Sam - i've not used lemsip capsules myself as i prefer the drinks but i have used plastic type capsules and they go through fine, at 4 months you should be fine with these hun :D

My top tip for today - Start taking Vit C as a daily suppliment, 1000mg a day chewable, and you will rarely get colds !

Cheers hun. I've never liked the lemsip drinks so the capsules are my only option really. Ive been coping with paracetamol until now but feel I need something a bit more.

And cheers for the tip re the Vit C. I'll stock up on those next time I pop to shops.

Tescos 3 for 2 offer, buy the 1000mg chewable and take one a day with the rest of your vits - swear to god i've not had a cold in over a year now, i've had the first symptoms of a cold but it normally lasts a day and is gone.

Is the only reason people are advised soluble pain killers is because of the swollowing of is it how the outside of tablets breakdown?

Thats correctamondo - though at 4 months swallowing and the break down of the tablet shouldn't be a problem.
There is also the malabsorbtion aspect of the bypass to consider to, certain drugs are slow release and this may be affected by the delivery system used ! - i dont know much about chemistry and i'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along in a bit, though for cold medication it shouldn't make any difference.

should be fine sam my reg medication come in the capsules u mean and i dont have a prob xx

My iron and antacid medication both come in capsule form and don't cause any problems.

Hope you are feeling better soon Sam!
Cuppa xx

I was told capsules are fine once you are over the liquid/sloppy phase.

But I was told not to take long acting NSAIDs for athritis ( like ibuprofen or diclofenac) especially if you've had a bypass cos they just sit in the stomach releasing their goodies but tend to sit where the joins are and canc aue ulcers, I can only have my NSAIDs if I take a proton-pump inhibitor (like omeprazole or lansoprazole)

Would have thought lemsip caps would be OK
