Length of Hospital Stay - Bournemouth

Hi,

Just wondered if any of you Bournemouth guys could let me know how long I can expect to be in for? And, did you have to give yourself heparin injections - worried about this .

not from bournemouth but i went into the l&d last tuesday morning and was let out friday afternoon

I went in Tuesday had op same day. Home Friday rather than Thursday as lived an hour away on Mr Davies orders.
You'll watch a DVD for injections, be watched doing one yourself & sent home with remainder, it's not as bad as you think and whilst not needle phobic I'm not keen on them.
Wear loose clothes home as you'll be bloated from op. Wounds will be superglued & may hitch on clothes as you feel up to moving around more. Glue will fall off after 10days or so.
Sharps box needs to go back to your local surgery not chemists as they tell you.

We do, my love ... to prevent DVT. I did my husband after he had his kidney removed & it is no biggy ... (not for me anyway, lol) . Fine needles & slip in easily ...

Oh dear ... guess this is your Achiles heel, hon. By the time you have gone through your bypass, a needle will not phase you. I went through this last night with Lynne as not only is she a needle phob she does not like blood either Poor little love :wave_cry: If you really are very scared, I think I will have to board the train for London

Same here i had loads after my hysto it just stabbing myself im not keen on Hubby is to heavy handed but friend might do it for me.

Some on here have gone to their surgeries & got them to do it but believe me it's not so bad the first few you do hesitate but after that it gets much easier. I'm not keen on needles but managed mine ok remembering to do them was the challenge.
