LIFE

BigDave99

a second chance at life
What is it with my life I have always managed to hold down a job and always been respected in my workplace, so why after waiting so long to get approval for my surgery a few days after getting my approval letter I get made redundant. I just can't win.

BigDave

Life is always going to come along and pull the rug out from under us unexpectedly...it might still have happened without you getting the go ahead for surgery!
celebrate the good bits and the bad bits will soon pass xxxx
The next job you get you will be fitter and healthier x

Dave, I am so so sorry to hear this. I've been in this position (not the surgery side, but redundancy) and know that as much as anyone tells you it's not your fault, not personal, things WILL improve etc, it will be difficult for you to accept this.

Please, please don't get too down hearted.

I will keep everything crossed that something good happens for you on the work front soon xx

i agree with the others ,and all through life we have to accept things happen for a reason,it might not be clear at the time but we are only given what we can handle , yes its hard and you feel like its a down hill battle , but something always comes up love ,these things make us who we are ,,and you seem a great guy anyway,so onwards and upwards ! x good luck x

Definitely happened for a reason - New You, New Job - this will be the year of change for you - grab it and enjoy!! (sorry, i always look for a positive in every situation) xx

You will cope, you are a strong person... Concentrate on your surgery and recovery first and foremost, this is a life changing/enhancing period in your life... Chin up, x

Sorry to hear that Dave, but usually when one door closes another one opens and I am sure you will find that door soon and have heaps of confidence and energy once you have your wls. Good Luck x

Sorry to hear that Dave, life can be a cow sometimes!

As someone who has been made redundant twice I have to say that although I felt like my entire world had fallen apart on both occasions, it was actually the best thing that happened to me. In the first instance I had been in the job for 7 years and had become 'stale' without even realising it and the second time it happened I used it as an opportunity to retrain and go down a totally different career path, the best move I ever made!

As people have already said, everything happens for a reason and this will be your opportunity to do whatever you want to do and with renewed confidence in yourself thanks to your surgery :)

H x

Thanks everyone all your comments are much appreciated, was feeling sorry for myself and let down by the company ( big corporation ) they just don't see beyond the financial bottom line.
This is out of my control and it is not going to me or my family by getting upset. Yes the surgery and the new job will be just what I need so if anybody knows any body looking for an Architect in Manchester give me a shout.

Thanks again

BigDave

Sorry to hear your news Dave :( My husband was made redundant a couple of years ago and it was a tough time but we got through it and actually ended up better off. My sister is being made redundant in a couple of weeks and again all indications are that its going to be positive for her.. I hope this turns out to be just another step towards a better life for the "new you" x :D
