Linkbacks/pingbacks?

Can someone tell me what the linkbacks/pingbacks thingy is that's recently appeared on the bottom of my diary thread?

When I access the links, they take me to a couple of my recent posts in a 'blog' format - but I've never done a blog (maybe I should, I've just never got around to it ).

They are probably on the minimins blog?

When somebody blogs and refers to the thread in the blog, it comes up as a link back to that post. Its a nice way to get people to write about whats happening on this forum in there blogs.
