Im going on a hen do in May to Majorca and i keep looking at clothes on the net to see what i might like to treat myself too , but i dont know what i like anymore , has anyone else had this ? im so confused lol xxx

yeah, i know what you mean, at the moment i live in jeans and tops, other than that ive got no idea, cos the type of dresses i would normally wear wouldnt suit me now, and the same with skirts and tops, and im not very fashion conscious. luckily i have 4 grown up daughters who can and do advise me, but the only problem is, they think im 22 not 52 lol, but overall, ill get sorted i think.
good luck with your search, do you have friends who can give you any advice and go with you for moral support?
big hugs xx

Oh yes! When my weight really started coming off I had no idea what sort of clothes to buy. I've never been this shape before, even the last time I was this weight. And as Dawny says, a 52yr old woman doesn't dress the same as a 22yr old ! I'm loving it and am even buying accessories I wouldn't have contemplated before... has someone done something to my head too ? Enjoy it... your time has come ! xx

rose, thats exactly what im doing, im buying nice scarf and glove sets, and co-ordinating them. ive got a pale pinky/beige one, with sparkly thread running through it, and a pale green one the same, and am looking at fleece ones now lol, im even buying modernish handbags, ive got a couple of fleece type tops, the ones where the fleece is inside but the outside is sort of smooth, and they have numbers and things on them, i think you can buy them from sport shops, ive got a lo vely one pink n white, and ive got loads of very thin jumpers from tesco, they were 2 for £10, ive got about 8 all in different colours, and i can wear them with a t-shirt or on their own, ive never bought so many clothes before, even my socks are fancy now lol. if someone had told me id be like this, id have called them a liar. but wow aint it great eh? enjoy it bobo, youve waited a long time for this, go get it girl, hugs xxx

I dont know if this is any help but if you go onto channel 4s website and go to gok wans page there is loads of advice on stlyes for ever shape and size, even gives you ideas of what to buy. I guess its harder because your shapes are changing!

I really cant wait for that and enjoy going shopping with my friends and be abpe to buy clothes in normal shops!! Not just evans or a small section of a couple of shops!!!

thanks nat huni, i for one will go onto goks site, big hugs xxx

I would order some catalogues or browse them online.Thats what I have been doing.Like others I have worn clothes lately for warmth, modesty and comfort.Elastic waists, long tops, big cardigans, long sleeves, baggy pants. All sound familiar? You get out of style so easily.depending on your age and size the sites I have looked at are Next,Marisota,50+,Marks and Spencer,QVC Maz x

Thanks ladies , im going shopping with my friends on thursday so might pop into Primark and get some cheap tops/dresses also got a top for 99p on ebay this morning ha !! that will keep me going then i think for the hen do i will treat myself and hit River island and Topshop and Miss selfridge these are the shops iv always wanted things from but never could xxx

Bobo? Why wait to hit the shops? Go now with a very good friend and try varying styles/colours on and see what styles suit your new shape. Our tastes change for sure as we lose weight, but also what suits us does....

Go wild and have fun trying without buying xx
