Lost my way

I don't know where to start or what's wrong with me. Have eaten nothing but crap for 3 days. We run our own business which has been mega busy too busy for us to cope with. Walking in late at night and eating junk pure junk.Eaten chips which I really struggled to get down but I kept trying, a cheese pasty took 45 mins, a Chinese, a KFC wrap the list is endless. Not huge portions but just rubbish food.
This may seem strange but I've been eating breakfast (never have before) and its making me starving all day.
My step sons are here eating sweets galore and I can't leave them alone either.
I'm so annoyed with myself but can't seem to find the motivation to stop.
I need a kick up the backside I really do.

OK, so you've eaten a load of crap - now just buy some salad/veg/healthy stuff and eat that instead!

Nothing wrong with a bit of crap occasionally.

losing our way often is something that we will do, but if we look at things hard enough will often find reasons behind it.

With what you've been eating, do you feel deprived of foods that you would eat/enjoy? If we deny ourselves certain foods or meals, we then often crumble and eat lots and then getting back on track becomes harder, we feel worse, we eat badly even more.

If there is some of this in your habits try incorporating such foods into your daily allowances so you don't feel deprived. I think so much of life with a band is finding a healthy balance even while we are losing. Making healthy changes but choices in how and what we eat, not just for today but for the future with a band :)

I allow a chocolate biscuit or a small piece of Chocolate or a fruit split ice lolly (65 cals!) Or options hot chocolate for a sweet treat but incorporate then all into my daily allowances so I do not feel deprived, but meet my daily requirements.

Also if you're working lots of hours and short on time, this is the time to keep some low fat/cal ready meals handy, weightwatchers or any of the supermarket brands low fat/cal meals are just great, right sort of portion size. So you come in, don't have to cook and a few mins later from the microwave you have something to eat.

The band I think needs a lot of forward planning, but I do keep ready meals here just in case I'm short on time or feel hungry that I need to eat instead of cooking to then eat.

I don't tend to eat breakfast and never have but before my most recent over restriction issues I was feeling so hungry that I'd eat something early. And then I'd be starving all day. But it's a time to STOP. Look at what you are eating so if you are eating earlier, is it filling? Crunchy? Dry? To keep you fuller for longer.

Try having bowls of chopped vegetables or salad to hand in the fridge prepared with some quark of low fat dip, if it's there and ready you don't have to prepare it and are less likely to then turn to foods that you don't want or feel you shouldn't be eating.

Ask the step sons to keep the sweets in their room, if we have chocolate etc in the house I would eat it, he keeps it in his room and I have one of two but then have the fact that I can't just go and get it to eat it. I limit as much as possible to what I keep in the house because I know how easy it is to not have "just one" - the band doesn't stop those emotional eating habits.

I also jeep chicken breast, prawns, and chunks of turkey in the fridge at all times so if I need to take the edge off hunger that it's protein based first.

I know we can end up feeling bad when we lose our way. It's a setback but a learning curve,
Learn from it, but make changes.

Remind yourself of why you had your surgery and where you want to be, don't think "I will get back on track on Monday of the 5th day if the month" do it NOW :)

Thank you everyone your all fab!! Top Kat what can i say ive printed your message off and its stuck to my fridge..
I have been good I was ashamed of myself after reading your post after your de fill!! it kicked my arse thats for sure!
Everyone of your suggestions made sense. All the kids sweets and junk is now upstairs away from me. Ive had a mega shop up and bought lots of quick healthy meals. I have deprived myself of lots of things so I have re-bought my whole fridge and cupboards. Special K crisps, ww soups, low fat and fat free spread cheese and low fat grated cheese. I bought some go ahead bars for my bag whilst Im at work. We bought a fridge for work which I have got bits and pieces in and lots of crisp breads and ryvita in my desk draw. Also some fruit pots which I love. Breakfast I cant do it makes me hungry all day. I havent been drinking enough and now finding drinking more makes me less hungry. I have another fill booked for Wednesday and hoping might make things easier. I cant eat much but I find Im hungry 2 hours later so started saving my dinner and heating it back up again.
Dolan Park said no meat for 3 months, I then spoke to the dietitian who said try some meat which was a relief. I can manage it and it fills me up much more. I love chicken and a bit of salad and its been great having that again. Rice and bread I cant do but I can manage without them.
It was about organization well lack of it. Im up at 430am every day I work in a call centre for 4 hours in the morning then head off to hubbys business. So I am planning meals better and have ready meals on stand by. I moan that im too busy but I can pop out at any point its me being lazy. I have found Boots do a gorgeous wrap for 284cals and I cant manage all of it and boots is about a 5 min walk!! I have really had no excuse!!
I am far more focused now! I haven't told many people think thats not helped
Thank you so much xxxx

Brilliant advice, and well done for recognizing the issue and nipping it in the bud:)

I work odd hours at very short notice, which means that meal plans have a tendency to fall by the wayside. I always have a load of tins of tuna in the cupboard - it's really filling, not too high in calories and full of protein. If I eat some tuna it stops me feeling ravenous and gives me time to think about how I can re-jig the weekly meal plan to suit.
There will always be times when plans change, so having contingencies in place is a great help.

Good luck x
