I'll be returning to work in a weeks time so I'll be 2 weeks post-op by then. I cant think of what to take as lunch? Can I have cous cous? Really don't want more soup and it's needs to be quick and easy. No cooking involved. I'm a community psychiatric nurse so on the go!!
Kelly ) x

These are some of the things I took in to work for my Week 3 and 4 (i am a sleever):

-- 100 grams cottage cheese

-- 2 Ryvita crackerwheat with Philadelphia light (the crackerwheat are really soft if crunched a lot not like normal hard Ryvita)

-- 2 or 3 slices of very thin, fine corned beef (I found that this was very crumbly and soft)

-- 100 grams of baked beans

-- small pot tuna in light mayo, or mashed up crab

Gastric Band Diet ... The hospital group guidance says no cous cous till after 4 weeks. Best Kelly to check the information your provider gave you, but below is what's in the thg booklet. Maybe at lunchtimes for the next couple of weeks you could stick to the liquids such as slimfasts and yoghurts just for lunch if it makes things easier when you are out and about xxx

Serve on a tea plate, drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. ONLY EVER drink fluids before your meal, not with your meal, allow at least 1 hour after a meal.
Always ensure a good protein portion at each meal- as a guide this should be the size of the palm of your hand.

I bought some snack pot things from morrisons mash with cheese just add hot water and only 200 cals very filling xx

Thanks for the ideas. I'm with THG and have the booklet but don't think any of the meals are particularly quick and easy for out and about. I like the idea of the snack pots and cottage cheese. Really wont want any more fluid food so slim fast etc are a definite no no! Lol!

i might steal some of these ideas as im running out of food options for the mush stage xx

also hummus is yumm and very filling xx

on its own, when i really cant be bothered to cook i have 2 teaspoons of it and im done xx

oh didnt think of them, love them also, are seafood sticks ok on the puree stage?x

yep,i seem to get full very easily,if i over do it i feel ill..havent even had my 1st fill yet x

I didn't have a puree stage - mine says soft/puree. So I didn't puree just ate soft stuff. If you're only allowed puree, maybe casserole some chicken and puree it? and mix some hummus in.

You don't have to blitz things I'm with THG and as long as something is soft enough too crush with the back of a fork u can eat it ,what about egg mayo with very low fat mayo or microwave jacket with beans ? As long as you leave the skin you can also have soft pasta in sauce I bought the Heinz pasta pouches and had them hope this helps xxx
