marvel in mil

can any one help me please i was told to put 4 spoonfuls of marvel into a pt of milk to double the protine but i forgot to ask wat size of spoon, tea spoon or tabel spoon. ithink its probably tabel but would like to make sure..........kath x

How much protein would it make then in skimmed milk?:D

You add 4 & a half tablespoons of Marvel to 1 pint of skimmed milk to make double milk. Double milk gives you about 40g protein, roughly half of what you need a day. I don't personally rate the taste of double milk but then my sense of taste went all weird on me after my bypass.

Would that be adding a whey protein powder to double milk you are talking about? You could do it for maximum protein but do you really want to be drinking your calories when you could be eating them for maximum restriction? It's something to consider as you go further out from surgery. I suppose new post op's could do this to maximise calories and protein in in the early days. Just food for thought :).
 
Yea hun i'd only have it on the days I don't eat enough, or get enough protein from food:D
 
Thank you for bringing this up. I am being done next month and I was considering ways of getting enough protein whilst post-up and on liquid.
