if the pills are little, then you should be ok to take them orally immediately post op believe it or not. If they are biggies like vitamin pills then its 8 weeks post op
Cool. I was worried about my anti-anxiety meds. I was put on them to deal with the twins health conditions and I cannot bear the thought of trying to come off them post op immediately.
I discovered my asthma tablets weren't crushable - after I'd been dutifully crushing them for two weeks so I just swallowed them whole and I didn't die. So I thought 'here goes' and just took the rest of my meds whole. It was fine. Mxx
I have been on normal tablets since having the op. Some of them are quite big, like the Metformin and capsules like the anti-gallstone caps, no problems. The multi-vits I was given are quite small, no idea what they are 'cos they are in a pharmacy bottle.
