Memory loss.....

I am suffering with terrible memory loss at the moment.

I'm wondering if it's because I'm lacking in any vitamins.

I'm seeing my GP next week, I'll have to ask him for blood tests to check my vitamin levels I think. Wonder which one affects memory?

This week I have.....

*Forgotten to go to a staff meeting on Monday evening.

*Forgotten to pay some money to school for my daughter.

*Forgot I arranged to meet a friend.

*Forgot to go to work, I remembered at 3.01pm and was ment to be there for 3pm, thank goodness it's close by and I can now run, was there for 3.05pm!

It's really getting embarassing now as I never used to forget anything. My friend had to text me last night as my daughters had their Brownie/Guide carol service and she was convinced I'd forget.

I never used to forget anything and hate being late with a passion. :wave_cry:

At my age I do tend to be a bit forgetful but as I suspect your a young it certainly won`t be age related, but maybe a vitamin difficiency - which is something I have never considered before, just as well to get it checked out I guess as you don`t want to be lacking in anything.

But then again young people these days with families do seem to take on such a lot - and that is not a critisism! I have a lot of admiration at what you set yourselves to achieve, it was a lot easier when mine were young, especially as I did`nt drive!
Also Christmas is such a busy time of year with an awful lot to think of. Plus consider are you getting enough sleep? as this can also affect memory.

Take care hun x

I am very busy at the moment. Running my own business, working part time as well as being a single parent to 4 children. 3 of whom who have December birthdays!

But really thats nothing out of the ordinary for me so I should be able to remember things.

I guess I am quite young still, I'm 32, so hopefully it's not an age thing!

I'm sleeping really well at the moment so no issues there. Well apart from this morning when I read 6.11am on the clock so got up, turned on the lights etc then re-checked the clock and it was actually 5.11am. Couldn't get back to sleep then.

See I keep doing daft things!

A surprising number of things can cause memory loss...

You're stressed out
Problems sleeping
Lacking vitamins, especially B12
Thyroid
Common drugs
Booze
Mini-stroke

I think out of these, its most likely to be the B12, common in bypassers - so get it checked for sure ;)

Are you taking a good quality multivit and mineral tablet? Having b12 injection? Taking calcium? Calcium and b12 levels especially, can very much affect your memory x

 No wonder you forget things - you have an awful lot on you`re plate juggling family on your own as well as your business!

I would`nt worry about it being an age thing. :)

Could you share the load a bit with grandparents or friends, or they also really busy?

Well it's not booze, not touched a drop since August!

Not drugs, I've not even taken a paracetamol since my op. Only had 2 doses of oral painkillers whilst in hospital. And it's not illegal drug related!

I'm sure I haven't had a stroke.

Although I'm busy I'm not stressed.

Sleeping well.

Think it's time to get that B12 checked.

I'm taking a centrum multi vit daily as well as a calcium and magnesium horse pill!

Again, time for a B12 check.

I would, we've been trying to get my dad to be assessed for alzheimers for 5 years .... it now appears it may be b12 deficiency :):):)

I think you are juggling a lot of balls and your brains tired and is having a rest :) But it never hurts to get a good medical opinion xxx

Awww Lucy... I can sympathise... I have to write everything down... I am over twenty five years older than you, but it's still a worry...

I tend to list everything these days... and it gets worse when I am feeling stressed... best to get it checked precious... keep us posted.

Sending a warm, loving hug as always, Lucy xxx

I would have thought the B12 is the most likely, time for the vampires to drain some red stuff from you I think :D X
