Hi,

Are any of you on Mettformin? how did your bodies cope with it after your operation? it is still hit and miss with how it affects my stomach and I would rather stop but I am not allowed too. also worried about how I am going to swallow it but doctor just said to cut it in half?

It is still possible to take tablets with a band, I take migraine tablets and big painkillers for them which are really big. I did check with my provider that it was ok to take them, and the main thing that we have to check is whether they can be cut/crushed because some have a coating on them which protect the stomach lining. Some tablets can be had in liquid form, (which i changed to soluble painkillers during the first 7-10 days) but after that everything has been ok.

The pharmacist I found really good in this respect in terms of checking for what maybe available in terms of smaller formats, tablets that can be soluble or crushed, because one of the tablets I do take, couldn't be crushed but was told in passing "If you struggle, crush it" so I'm glad I did check.

Hi I used to take metformin for PCOS but couldn't tolerate the tummy issues that come with it. I came off it but it wasn't because of my surgery.

Yep, same with me. Always made me violently sick each time I tried to increase the dose
