hi tracy, i guess you're waiting to see if funding is approved? i would imagine all pct's are different, i was referred about a month ago and not heard yet, although im not expecting a yes. You can always phone your pct and ask, i did and they said they will send me a letter the same time as the doctor, i was still in a pile. But the may have decided yours already, id phone if i was you, good luck xxx

different areas have different ways of doing things ..................i had to go through the luton and dunstable obesity research centre ...............did all the diets done the slimming meds then diets again then got told i had funding

It really does depend on the way your PCT does things.

Some start the ball rolling with appointments and then apply for funding nearer surgery time.

My PCT won't let you be referred to the hospital until they have agreed funding (took 6 months and 3 appeals to get it!) And then they told my GP which hospitals he could refer me to.

Good luck with the referral, why not ring your surgery to find out what the process is for your area!
