By one know if we can have this? Havnt been for a few days and don't want to leave it much longer also while I'm asking anyone know if we can have capsuals? I have to take a thrush tablet once a month as hormones are up the wall and don't know if I'm going to be able to take it thanks Kelly xxx

Hi Kells,
I had to take Dulcolax post op when I was on fluids as was very constipated! They are very small tablets so they were ok to take! Can you get your thrush medication in liquid form? I had to get some of my tablets in liquid form!
xx

I had a problem taking large tablets at first after my bypass, and I bought myself a pill crusher. I think I got it from boots pharmacy, and it was about £5 but it crushed my larger tablets into powder, or if you put them in the other side, it actually cut them into 2 pieces, so that solved the problem for me, so maybe it would be something that you would want to try for your thrush medication?

Dulcolax or dulcoease are small tablets so you should be ok, before crushing any tablets tho, check with the pharmacist or your doc, some are slow release or have special coatings to protect the stomach and crushing them can be dangerous.

I have been ok with capsules, but then I still have little restriction and only notice the band is there if I eat chunks of cold chicken.

Wish I could have a bit of constipation!!! I am 7 days post op and have still have "the runs" LOL

Movicol sachets are recommended by my surgical team and I've used them quite a bit since being on chemo. They are effective and for me anyway safe. As always your GP is the person you should be asking about what's best for you x
