My drivers licence

Just renewed my photo driving licence online. Got some lovely photos done of the thinner me to tag on to it but they didn't ask for them. However they did ak for my passport number which was renewed last year. Wondered how they were going to get round this ... Maybe ask me to send them in later? Nope three days later my new licence has just dropped onto my mat with the photograph on it from my passport.... With me 8 stone heavier!! I don't know whither to laugh or cry :sigh: I have to live ten years with both these documents as a reminder of what I looked like at my heaviest!! More worryingly will border control recognise me on them once I lose the next 8st!!

I think no matter what I will need to sort them both at some time in the future. I will get away with them this year but come a few stones down the line I will need to get them updated. More expense I know but it will be worth it

How have others managed?

My licence still has my 30 stone photo as does my passport. I just try to be a good citizen lol.

I'm stuck with my driving licence for another 5 years & my passport 3 years... can't wait to change them! The DVLA & passport agency are now linked & DVLA will use your electronically stored pic held by the passport agency.
Don't panic about border control, they're trained to look past weight loss when recognising people! You could use the automatic gates if you don't want to show the officer your passport if you're flying into an airport that has them!
I did have an interesting moment at Dutch passport control back in April when the officer commented that he knew it was me in the pic but I'd changed loads... lol x

I'd never thought of that!

Fortunately my photos are from during a Slimming World phase so aren't too much different!

I was well chuffed it's quite funny as that's what I do for a living... whenever people say to me "oh don't look at my pic it's horrible..." I tell them they should see mine!!! lol x

I got stopped at immigration coming back from France this year. The electronic photo recognition machine didn't recognise my face shape. I flashed my scars and showed the lady the port for my band, got a congratulations and then was sent on my way

Had to renew my driving licence photo yesterday, trouble is I had the one from my provisional when I was 17!! So now amount of weight loss was gonna improve on that...
Damn youth!!

I have both passport and driving lisence expiring next year so I have plenty of time to reach my target weight and have some beautiful new photos taken. lol
