Well here goes. I had the bypass and it has really changed my outlook on life. I studied a Foundation Degree five years ago and didn't continue onto the third year as at the time my family and personal circumstances meant I couldn't move out of Cornwall to do the final year of my course. Well that was five years ago. I have just left my degree on the back burner for that long, working in elderly care for three years and now two years at a popular fast food restaurant. Well today I visited my old college, saw my old lecturers who gave me some good advice. I have been thinking about it for a while too. I have decided to go back to university, (now they offer the course in Cornwall) and do my final top-up year in Education and Training and do a PGCE to get qualified to teach Further Education (college students). I have a new goal in my life that I want to pursue, not stay in fast food all my life, it's not a career, it's a stop gap job. I want to teach Health and Social Care to students. I will do this. This bypass has given me the determination to get off this big bum (slightly smaller ) and do something with my life. So wls folks, you can do things if you are determined. Have now completed my UCAS application, awaiting reference, and will be applying to do the top-up year. No more letting me hold myself back!!
