May I ask which hotel you stayed at and how you coped with the post-op diet while staying in the hotel.
I've booked at the Ibis Budget - seemed the sensible one as I don't need the meals!
I'm travelling alone by ferry (Harwich-Hoek), train (Hoek-Rotterdam-Antwerp-Bruges) as I like the thought of relaxing in a cabin rather than the hustle and bustle of flying - I'm a frequent flyer and realise it would be a challenge to break my routine (which involves food) so I thought do it the way where food isn't in the routine. Ipswich to Harwich is just a short hop and I have a lift sorted.
When I had my lap-band I was walking around after four days due to a complication so I've been conservative with the hotel time.
My plan is:
11/7 - Leave home
11-12 - overnight ferry and train, check in to hotel
12-13 - enjoy final World Cup games with a few pints of water
14 - rest day
15 - consultation day
16 - surgery (night is hospital)
17 - night in hospital
18-21 Hotel
21 - return to Hoek and overnight ferry back to Harwich
22 - Back home
So it's two nights in hospital and three nights in a hotel followed by an overnight in a ferry cabin (where I've booked the one disabled cabin for the return journey)
