Hello I am due to go to see my consultant at sunderland on monday and i had a weight loss target to meet. During that tine i have put on!!! Yeah i am very down about it and yeah i know it is my fault. I have had two operations in that time. one on my foot and one on an abscess both which has left me unabkle to do any physical activity. so therefore i have put on. I dont know why but healthy eating alone does nothing for me at all. I have to work out and since my ops i have not been able to do either. No excuse i know but i have put on. What will happen? I am still a little sore from my last operation and was going to cancel and make a new appointment but the next available is november!!! So i will have to attend - feel ashamed and i was wondering what will happen? will they give me another chance at loosing the weight or not? thank you x

Hi Kelly, I hope that they give you another chance.

I'm sure I remember seeing a flowchart for the process from Sunderland (might have been in the little booklet that they gave out at the seminar), and one of the paths was for those who have not met target they would consider an 'extension' or other things such as counselling or other procedures. I'm sure that if you explain because of your operations you haven't been able to get up and about to do exercise or your mind hasn't been on dieting then they will understand and offer an extension.

Got me fingers crossed for you.

Hiya I had my bypass op in Sunderland and I didnt meet the weight loss requirement I'd been on steroids for me asthma think I was about 4lb short so they gave me a further chance and booked me for my endoscopy but they did stress if I hadnt met the weight loss target by then I would have to start the process from the beginning again but luckily I managed it and had my op. Sunderland are really strict with ur weight loss target so I would try your best from now till monday hopefully u cud get a cple lbs off. Good Luck let us no how u get on xx

Oh no! I would attend the appointment and see what they say when you explain the circumstances.

I've seen others on here say they had to go back to see the surgeon again 3 months later and so long as they'd achieved the wl by then they got put forward for the endo. However, others have been put forward for the endo anyway but have to lost the weight by then.

I'd take my chances hun - good luck x

Hope 2day goes well xx

thank you very much x
today went okay. was only in with him for about 3 minutes lol. got three month to loose at least 2 stone but 1 and half would be okay x so now i need to start and get back on top of things xxx

good luck kelly you will do it x

Hey Kelly glad they gave you another chance but don't think need to lose two stone but one and a half is ok, its allowing yourself a way out! Knuckle down and you will do all that is needed I'm sure, good luck x

Aww am pleased they gave u another chance, try ur hardest to lose some weight I no its not easy but its so they no ur serious cause u will get the milk diet to follow later n thats really hard hardest diet av ever had to follow. Good Luck and anytime ur syruggling n need some advice just give us a shout xx

thank you so much. never been more serious about wanting this operation in my life, if i want it that much why cant i stick to loosing weight, it is driving me mad but i am going to add more daily activity to my lifestyle start adding walking and using my vibe plate. and add some healthy options of snacks. instead of reaching for that chocolate biscuit am going to bed lol. breakfast was 1 toast and 2 scrambled eggs, then lunch was a late lunch cos i had to go to sunderland so had a big slice of slimming world home made quiche. cottage cheese eggs peppers ham and onions. suppose to be good to eat on slimming world lol then tea was jacket 2 slices ham and lots of lettuce onion grated carrot with a small sprinkle of cheese on potato and no butter. snack was a very small punnet of rasberries am now in bed with laptop and a coffee lol to stop me snacking lol x

I totally no what you mean even wen I lost the weight target at my endoscopy and was added to the list I still gained the weight bk on so wen I got my call for my op I had to crash diet like an idiot to get the weight bk off so they wouldnt cancel. Its a case of self distruct In my head I never believed this op would go ahead and if did I was gonna be in the minority who the op didnt work for I was meant to be fat! Right? or so I thought my confidence was gone and without confidence ur not going to succeed with much. But try to think selfishly focus on you only and where u want to be in a year. Its hard but worth it you will get there. I am on my way to a new me unbelievably I still struggle to believe am losing weight lol, so if I can do it you can xx

You're totally not alone!

I don't know about you, but I am always better when I have a date and a target to work to.

At the moment I've had my endoscopy, and am expecting an op date around may-june. Because I haven't got a date, I'm really struggling. I lose a pound, and put 2 back on. Lose them and put 1 back on. I'm desperately trying to stay at the weight I was for my endo.

I think part of us is probably going - this will be my last few months of eating "normally", or rather, as we always have, and we want to have everything before we have our op.

You sound like you are eating very healthily though. I hope you keep motivated - it makes it so much easier! Keep us updated.

Em x

Glad it went ok hun! I'd go for 2 stone then you give yourself a little bit of room for any setbacks.

I've put weight on since my endo so now have about 6lbs to lose and hoping to get a call in the next month so I REALLY need to get it off asap.

Best of luck x

yeah that is what i want to do, aim higher then if i dont achieve the higher weight loss i know i made the acceptable one. Had poached egg on toast for breakfast. and lunch i skipped cos was at work later so had an apple but tea is chicken fillet halved with plenty of veg and small amount of potato.

its is very hard even when you know you have to do this. it is still very hard. but i am determined to do it cos i need it. i went from nearly 22 stone to 16stone 9 pound and then the last 6 month i have gone back up to 18 stone 10. so now i have to get 2 - 3 off. ideally i would like to be about 16 but it is keeping it off. the time. once it is off. you think great am in a size 16-18 and you end up putting it on but because clothes still fit. but you forget they are getting tighter and stretching with you. til you step on scales. some times i feel i do everything right then the scales say otherwise and i hate it.

it is like a drug addiction. fight fight fight all the time. it drives me mad. then the waiting time between loosing it and being at target weight then you have to wait months for appointment and try to stay at that weight, and not put a pound on. arghhh

i have never spoken about it like this before. lol

but i will get there, x

I have lost just over 4kg since my endoscopy, but am going to New York in a couple of weeks, so am worried that I might put it back on and more. I wasn't sure whether we would get weighed again before the milk diet, or just get a date of when to start it?

I have no idea - maybe it would be better if I tell myself that I WILL get weighed again. LOL.

x
