Hi Banders, i am a very new (1 week today) bander and would love contact with others in band land. So far I have gone from 120.4kg to 114.6kg which includes the pre op low fat diet. I am having a worry that the loss is fast and not feeling too nourished at the moment, but am free from distraction and obsessing. Would love to chat with others who have or are going thro the first stages - am still liquid only and then onto puree. Have seen postings of so many of you brave and achieving banders. XX Babytum;)

Hi there Babytum and :welcome2:to minis. This is the place to be for advise and friendship. I too am a bander and I don't know what I'd do without the wonderful peeps here.Jump in and join the crew and fire away any questions you may have.

Hi gals - thanks for the rsvps, so qwik!! Your losses really inspire me. Questions - have u had any complications? Do u consider your bands 'for life'? Any hair loss ...really scary!? I am managing about 1 litre daily at mo - is that normal/ok? Babytum xx

Hi babytum, i'll not lie.....it isn't easy, i have never worked so hard at a 'diet' in all my life!!

When im craving something.... I come on here to take my mind off it and it usually works

Yes my band is definately for life, I dont know where I came from NO-ONE in my family carries weight so I didn't want to loose weight and then most likely put it back on so hopefully my band will help me keep it off long term, im not massive just 3 pregnancies took its toll on me and contentment with my hubby but hey its coming off now so thats the main thing!!

I have some hair loss anyway from my last pregnancy, my baby is only 10 months so that'll hopefully stop soon

I have had no complications so far...fingers crossed!!

When I was on fluids, I had tea for breakfast, homemade veg soup or ww tomato soup for lunch and same again for dinner, I would also drink no added sugar dilute throughout the day, I hated slimfast and yoghurts etc

You'll know if you are drinking enough if your pee is a straw colour, if its any darker you need more fluids or if your not peeing enough you need more liquids

Hi BT. Welcome to minis. I'm a bander - just over 3 weeks and like Wannabe I am starting on "real food" and 3 meals a day. I've lost 26lbs so far and I'm really pleased. I'm not sure when my first fill will be but I am seeing the surgeon on Aug 10th. I haven't had any problems so far but I do find not drinking with or just after a meal quite difficult. I do forget sometimes........Ooops. Anway once again welcome. Everyone on here is so helpful it's a great forum.

Hi BT ....:welcome: to Minis.

there's loads of folk on here to give advice and support, just shout out and an experienced bander will be along to help fairly quickly :)

I'm 8 weeks post banding, but had to have port correction surgery last week...(please don't let that scare you as it is apparently quite rare...it's all in my blog) so I'm going through the sloppy stages again at the moment as I had my first fill done at the same time as port correction.

struggling with the new restriction at the moment but getting there.
I too only seem to manage around 1ltr of water per day

good luck on your WL journey :D

im 4 years post op, my story is to long to type here, but any questions just ask xx

Welcome to minimins!

Hi and welcome.:553:

I'm 7 weeks post banding and haven't had any problems so far.

I had my first fill 2 weeks ago, but don't have much restriction at all.I've booked a second fill for next week, hopefully that one will be better.

You have come to the best place for advice. Lots of people here who are longer banded and very helpful.

Good luck with your journey

Hi Babytum, welcome to Mini's. Well done on yr weightloss so far. I had my op on 22 March this year and I'm really pleased with results. It is hard work but so worth it. x
