Hi im Jean, this my first time on a forum, i would like some advice on Gastric Bands, im due to see the consultant in April,:)

It's mostly trial and error, although you get to see more info once you've posted over 50 times. There are word games that you can do which will boost your posts.

There are also a lot of people who have had gastric bands that are bound to come forward to say hello and give you lots of advice and some with diaries which are useful to read.

Hi Jean and :welcome: to WLS....There are lots of experienced banders here who will be able to give you some great advice...good luck on your weightloss journey XX

Hi Jean

Only just banded (Thursday) so still learning but great advice will come along soon! X

Hello and welcome to the forum jean. Loads of help on here hope you like it. xxx

Hi Jean

my pre op diet which is basically 4 pints of semi skimmed milk a day and 1 sachet of sugar free jelly and 2 salty drinks ie oxo cubes. this is for 2 weeks

There are lots of variations I am sure someone who had their op at the same hospital will be along soon x

Thepre-op diet at SRH depends on wether you are diabetic or not, mainly.
If you're diabetic, you go on a low carb, low calorie, high protein diet.

If not, its the milk diet:
2-3 pints milk
2-3 diet yoghurts
2 pieces of fruit
sugar free jelly
low cal vegetable soup in moderation

per day.

That's if I'm remembering it right! It's 7 months ago now!

Hi Jean i run the patient support group at SRH and questions please feel free to ask, the pre op diet at sunderland is basically milk and yoghurts, diabetics get a different diet to do, it is difficult but well worth sticking too x
