New to the work of gastric band....

Hi, am hoping I can get some advise please?

I had my band fitted 2 days ago and expected discomfort with not only the operation but also the air that is placed into the abdomen but would be interested to know if anyone else experiences/experienced pain behind their left boob which, at the moment, stops me in my tracks. I also have chronic flatulence - something I have never had before. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks xx

Hi. I had a bypass but proceedure of filling you with air is the same. These feelings you have are perfectly normal, it's trapped wind and it will disperse over the next few days. Being mobile helps as does drinking peppermint tea and sipping boiling water. Try sitting bolt upright too. The wind is obviously because the body is getting rid of it. It can be painful but it will pass soon.
