Shrinking For Sophie
Was feeling a little down so decided to do a wardrobe clear out since its becoming harder and harder to find things in there to fit after a 5&1/2 stone loss.... I need new clothes rather quickly. I need a little retail therapy to cheer me up anyway but now i dont need to find an excuse :D.... I Just need to find hubby's wallet :D

ENJOY SHOPPING BUT DONT BUY TOO MUCH. yOU'LL BE AMAZED HOW quickly it all becomes too big for you gain!

Yay!! I recommend eBay!

Thanks ladies...It's a great feeling .. Putting garment after garment into bags knowing that you are never EVER going to wear them or anything that size again. I kept a jumper t shirt and jeans for a reminder though. Going to buy a couple pair of leggings and tshirts today. It's hubby that needs restraint he wants me to buy the shop lolol xx

Charity shops, eBay & places like primark & matalan sales you will shrink out of things so fast its not worth buying all new things other than lingerie. Save now for the full splurge when you get to your target.

asda sales are very good too!
And yes, I first started buying at size 24. Realised that a lot of that now is too big and starting to buy in 18 lol.

I so relate to you on this! Having lost 8 stone in 7 months and have lost 7-8 dress sizes in that time its been hard . . .desperate for clothes but not wanting to spend lots because of getting through a size down a month . . .

I found a local online selling group and bought a lot of clothes from there, a lot of it brand new. I bought loads in a 24/22 cos I thought I would shrink into it, when I got it home and tried it on, it was already too big (this is where my head just hasn't caught up!) I seemed to have missed being size 28, 26 and 24 and almost 22 by wearing my 32/34 clothes which were literally hanging off me. But I found it has been a good way of buying clothes really cheaply and if they only get worn for a month or so, there's not much lost. :)

I'm now keeping an eye out for 18/16 things, although a dress I bought from the group today in an 18, is already on the loose side . . .

But isn't it great!

Had a great day actually got 4 tops from m&s!! £7.50 each I'm sooo happy it feels like Christmas!! Asda for a couple pair of leggings. Tried the tops on Instore and thought the only thing that spoils it is my droopy tits so decided to go get measured ...gulp ... I was and am still wearing 50EE .. How grotty is that!. I'm now a 44F ..Yippee!! No wonder I'm drooping lol. Only thing is the didnt have my size there grumble grumble so they have ordered them in so I will be saggy for a couple days yet OMG I have ordered bras from M&S! Somebody pinch me please :) xx

I have just measured as a 40f started as a 48dd. Bizarre lol

Aww that's great, it must feel so good. I can't wait for my turn! I find that at the moment I stick to same 3 outfits. Hopefully it won't be long now until I'm gettin measured! Enjoy ur new clothes x

Ive got 250 in a thinspiration fund for a shopping trip but not yet. Ive got smaller clothes in the loft from my uni days lol. Tried on my work trousers today ready for tomorrow, two pairs went in the bin because they were too big and had a huge hole in but I refused to buy new. Three pairs are still too small so went back in the wardrobe but two fit me ive dropped a dress size already. Xx

Has anyone tried selling the stuff you've shrunk out of on ebay? Some of my things are starting to get a bit big (nearly 2st down) and I don't want to give certain things to charity shops as some of it is recent stuff from gap, m&s, Evans etc which I paid a fair bit for and I'd like to try and get some money back for to fund my new wardrobe when I get to target :) it's mostly about a 20/22. Just wondered if it was likely to sell? Even a few quid per item I'd b happy with!

Thanks x x

Thanks everyone for your posts. you are all such lovely ladies
It's been 16years since I was this size and even then shopping was constrained to Evans or the catalogue larger section and that was limited. Marksies was just starting to deal with larger sizes but only in the big city stores but I was gaining weight rapidly after my hysterectomy so missed out. I have never had the luxury of shopping for normal clothes even as a kid it was hand made stuff mum had made :-/.... It's fantastic that in those lost 16yrs that many stores have embraced the larger lady or man for that matter. Once in the local shopping centre today hubby asked where I would like to start ... I told him I don't know I have never done this before hahaha. I will be quite happy to buy from matalan and primarck etc etc till I get to my stable weight but today was frivolous joy :) xx

It will brownin. Like me, top kat, Yvessa & many others it will creep up on you & you just won't see it until its undeniably obvious. I had dropped 4 to 6 sizes before I cottoned on but as the weight continues to fall it was getting harder and harder to trawl through my wardrobe to find something that even resembled fitted.. In reality nothing did and I was doing myself a disservice by continuing to wear clothes that were actually hanging off me... Hence the massive clear out. This is the new me finally starting to emerge.. Your turn won't be too far away ;) xx

Yes I sold a batch of clothes before Christmas and raised almost £500 - going to do some again soon, but have also found some selling pages on networking sites which I may also use :)

I sold clothes in order to find new ones. The few Evans ones j had sold for more than I expected and I managed to buy a whole new wardrobe :)

No, don't do it tracked though. It's worth it for very expensive items but costs way too much for normal things
