Iv been having a read of people's posts & it's been interesting reading about different procedures and people's experiences.l am just at the beginning of my journey so l don't know if l'll be accepted to get surgery or if l decide it's not for me , as l have to admit l am quite anxious about the whole surgery thing.

Hi Deb !
From down the other end of the country , big wave !
Welcome , pull up a chair , grab a cuppa ..
I'm just about to begin my journey tomorrow . , eeeeek ! I'm so excited !

Hello newbie!
I'm a bypasser and it's the best thing I've ever done I wish you luck with everything

Thanks to you all for the welcome
I have a long way to go before l know if l will get surgery.lv only had one appointment with the doctor and he seemed to favour the gastric sleeve rather than the band , but l will have to do some research and also by reading people's experiences on here will help me learn more.

Hi Debbz, welcome and all the best :)

Thank you
Hi Lisa l see you're a pre opper , how you feeling as your op date comes nearer

Well its mostly anxiety that I'm feeling at the moment as I'm still waiting on my surgery date.
I was initially told it would have been around Christmas time last year by my Bariatric team consultant but was then told around March by the surgeon... then it was May and now supposedly June according to the surgeon's assistant (due to a surge in cancer patients, which very understandably are priority)...
Trying to be patient but its hard lol

I hope all goes well and you get your operation in June.you sound like your ready for this , good on you

I am Debbz, I have been waiting a long time! Lol. If I could have afforded to go private, I would have.

Good on you. It's the NHS that lm just starting my journey with , lm just starting the pre bariatric sessions tomorrow , then l guess after lv attended all the sessions they ,and me,will decide if this is best for me.like you l did look into private but was too expensive.l think it's because lv got type 2 diabetes that lv been lucky to been accepted onto the nhs program.

Hi Debz welcome to the forum.

I having gastric band surgery tomorrow. I also have a little girl and I'm looking forward to being more active with her x x

Good luck. This is a brilliant forum and I'm sure you'll get lots of good advice x x x

HI Debz - I've just started too. Had my 1st appointment with consultant yesterday, and he recommended a bypass for me. I'm resigned to the fact it's the only way for me, I've spent 30 years dieting and getting bigger and bigger every year. Good luck to you.

Good luck for your surgery , hope all goes well for you
That's my main reason for wanting to lose weight so l can have more energy and do more fun things with my wee girl , then she's also my reason for being anxious incase anything was to go wrong.theres so much to read on here from others experiences and the magority seem positive

Hopefully all will go well and the process not too long for you. Most diabetics seem to improve fairly quickly after WLS so thats encouraging. All the best :)
